5/22/45 Gina Cerminara's letter to Miss [
3356]: "We are at
present conducting a research project on the Life Readings
given by Mr. Cayce... You might be able to assist me in
completing our records with regard to the Life Reading of
Miss [
5049]. Her Life Reading indicates that January 3, 1945
would be a very happy day in her life, and indicates also
that on that day she would, or should, marry. In the
interest of ascertaining whether or not the reading was
accurate, on this point, would you be so kind as to let us
know whether or not the prophecy has been fulfilled? Any
other comment you might care to make on the accuracy - or
otherwise - of the reading, would be of great value to us
in our study and would be deeply appreciated."
5/31/45 Miss [
3356]'s reply: "You are undertaking a work
that I've wished could be done. The Physical Readings stand
up under every test or diagnosis; I've been wondering if the
Life Readings in their prognoses do. You ask me about Miss
[
5049]'s prophecy regarding her marriage. I talked this over
with her adopted mother and she will reply to your inquiry
in detail. The reading stated that the marriage would take
place IF certain suggestions were carried out. The thing
that especially interested me is that Miss [...], a friend
and also an enemy in previous incarnations, prevented this
marriage from taking place. My explanation is that [
5049]
submitted to Miss [...]'s whim when she should have asserted
herself, but I do not know all the details..."
11/02/45 Foster-mother's letter: "From time to time I am
privileged to read correspondence sent to Miss [
3356]...
You have the record of Mr. Cayce's Reading for my adopted
daughter. Since that time, she has made an unfortunate
marriage, has an 18-months' old daughter, and is an
alcoholic. Is there anything in any of Mr. Cayce's
readings which deals with alcoholic treatments..."
7/16/46 HLC's reply: "Your request addressed to the
A.R.E. under a November 1945 date was misplaced. We regret
this delay in answering your letter. At the present time
the cross-indexing and extracting work has not proceeded
far enough to bring to light all of the information on
Alcoholism. A number of readings were given for individuals
with this condition. We have noted your request, and will
advise you just as soon as this material is in shape for
publication."
8/01/46 Foster-mother ordered various publications from A.R.E.
3/27/50 Questionnaire-letters sent to foster-mother and Miss
[
3356]. No reply.
10/02/52 No record of verbal or written contact on this case
since
8/01/46.
