This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 13th day of May, 1944, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [5113], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existing conditions; also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5113].
3. As we find, conditions may easily become very serious here. The forming of the cysts and the accumulations of broken cell, as indicated in moles and spots on portions of the body, indicates the type of cellular force that may attempt to set up activities in its own self, thus destroying the tissue. For there is a deficiency already of white blood cellular force, or the leucocyte portion of same, and this control lost may easily make for the greater distresses through the organs of the pelvis, as well as in all of the areas where there are great portions of lymph circulation or soft tissue; as in throat and lungs, the nasal passages and throughout the alimentary canal, as well as especially the organs of the pelvis. For these indicate disturbances.
4. We would apply here the multiple short-wave, and we would find that these treatments followed with a general massage with Cocoa Butter over the abdomen areas, as well as along the spine, will bring relief; and if persisted in may eradicate the cysts and the accumulations without operative measures, which under the present conditions would be very severe for the body.
5. Do add wheat oil or wheat germ to the diet, as well as the compound B vitamins. Keep a normal diet, not too much of any kind of meats, and never any "red meats" of any character.
6. Do these and we may bring the bettered conditions for the body.

8. (Q) What causes terrific nervous tension and singing noises in head and ears?
   (A) The pressures which exist through the incoordination of lymph and the cerebro-spinal and sympathetic circulation, and these give expression in the auditory forces of the body. Do as has been given for the better conditions of the body.
9. (Q) Are the noises and vibrations from electric power plant in my neighborhood harmful?
   (A) Unless the body can attune itself to the noises until it is not aware of their presence, better move from that environ.
10. (Q) What is condition of uterus?
    (A) As has been indicated. These indicate the accumulations and these may be better aided with the muscular oscillator of the multiple short-wave.

BACKGROUND

1. 4/11/43 Letter: "Five years ago, a friend of mine [[2017]'s father] gave me a pamphlet about your work. At that time I had just become interested in metaphysics. Not knowing much about the subject, I laid the pamphlet aside and promptly forgot all about it. Several Sundays ago, paging through the Sunday Book Section, I read an ad about a book by Thomas Sugrue... I am a registered nurse...and have been doing volunteer work since the shortage of nurses. I hadn't worked at my profession since I married 12 years ago, that is, not in a hospital. I am a clergyman's daughter and we come from a long line of clergymen, so metaphysics and philosophy took me, or rather I took it, by storm. I read and studied all kinds of books to find where the truth lay. Many times I was in great confusion, and still am, about many things. I went to all kinds of lectures. One teacher in particular (whom we have given up for some time now), we admired very much, but alas we had to learn the lesson that our teacher had feet of clay and that the impersonal life is the only way. The shock was very hard for all of us, and it seems all I had built up in self-discipline seemed to crumble. Now I always feel that I know better than I do.
   But the worst is, my health has been failing. I am so harassed by a vibrating noise in my ears or head, I can't seem to place it, that I have become so nervous and tense (this goes on all day and nite); my disposition is ruined and my husband and daughter are suffering from it. I went to a very good doctor and he said he didn't know what the cause was. Nothing seems wrong with the ear itself... It has been going on continually for the last year. I am so tired and nervous, I feel worn out from this continual noise. I don't know whether it comes from a physical cause or from hysteria which it is sometimes a symptom of; could I have a Physical and Mental reading to find out what I have done, and what I could do to remove this condition? I would be grateful to you for ever."
2. 10/08/43 Letter: "...I wrote to you last spring and then hesitated until now, thinking I could conquer my trouble without help, thinking that to overcome alone gives soul strength. But help I must seek, so first I would like a Physical Reading and later will apply for a Mental and Spiritual Reading..."
3. 2/44 Questions submitted in addition to those at end of 5113-1: "(1) Need any cysts be removed by surgery? (2) Can any other method be used? (3) Are brown moles on body malignant? (4) Need they be removed? (5) There is a terrific history of cancer in my family. Am I susceptible? (6) Could I have a special check on: ductless glands, nervous system, ears, eyes, teeth?"
4. 3/14/44 Letter: "Am sorry to hear you have been sick... As for my reading, postpone it until you are completely recovered. Seeing you forever in His presence..."
5. 5/07/44 Letter: "During the appointment which I have with you on 5/13, I shall be at ... I leave the Physical Reading in your care, and the following seem to be the problems that have troubled me: Constant ringing in ears; condition of uterus; brown moles - are they cancerous, and should they be removed? Gas in intestines. Routine check-up of ductless glands, nervous system, eyes, ears, and teeth. We feel very grateful to you..."

REPORTS

1. 7/16/44 Letter: "Thank you very much for the reading... I have delayed writing to you until I had some definite information to tell you about the treatment which you have prescribed... I went to Dr. Hanoka whom you recommended, and who I know personally. He is not a physician, but a registered dentist by profession. He, in turn, referred me to a Dr. A. L. L. [Dr. Hymen Allen, Ph.T., N.D.] of ..., who is a naturopath and a registered physiotherapist of ... During the course of the treatment recommended in the reading, Dr. A. L. L. insisted on supplementing these treatments with some of his own. After a few treatments under his care, I gave him 'There Is A River' to read and then showed him the reading. He is very much interested in the work, and is more apt to confine himself to the treatment recommended. I feel that after he has gone deeper into your work, he will be an ideal man for you to recommend... Since taking the wheat germ oil and the vitamin B complex, plus the short-wave treatments, I feel improved in health, the ringing in my ears has decreased considerably, my skin has a healthier appearance, and the general bodily tone has improved. We sincerely thank you..."
