5/10/44 The following questions, in addition to those at
end of 5129-1, were worded and submitted by Mr. [
257]:
"(1) Please give the general causes of the condition which
is attacking her body? (2) Where is the center of this
condition, and what caused it in the beginning? (3) What
will relieve her quickly? (4) Would short-wave or electrical
treatments be helpful, such as infra-red lamp or ultra-violet
ray, and if so how often should they be taken, and how should
they be used? (5) What diet should the body take for each
meal? (6) Would osteopathy be helpful, and if so, what
specific corrections should be made and how often should
treatments be given? (7) Would massage be helpful, how
often, and what type? (8) Are there any sulpha drugs which
would be helpful in breaking up the condition and alleviate
the pain? (9) Is liquor good or bad for the body?
(10) Please give any advice to help this body quickly.
(11) Would [
341], if in this country, be able to direct the
doctors and arrange the treatments and check on the progress
of this case? (12) Would it be to the best interests of the
service and the treatment of [
5129] for Gen. [...] [[
5129]'s
husband], to ask for [
341] to be returned to this country?
(13) What work could [
341] do in D.C. for the best interests
of the service, and at the same time help [
5129] to
recover?..."
REPORTS
5/24/44 Letter: "My reading came this morning. I am making
arrangements for the treatment you suggest. I am unable to
get Peanut Oil in this neighborhood, but have several more
places to try, or [
257] said he can get it for me. You asked
me to outline my case to date of reading. It started in my
hands 10 to 15 years ago; they are not crippled, but swollen,
and calcium deposits at knuckles; then pain or ache came in
hips several years later. Now, sharp pains across hips and
spine (low) running down legs last 2 months, sore knees,
stiff back, hard to stand in straight position for a time,
feels like nerves are pinching bone sockets... I want to
thank you for your kindness..."
7/02/44 Letter: "I have already written Mr. Godfrey about the
Wet Cell not working. I have now had it tested. I put it
together according to direction, first studying them (the
General and I both), so feel sure we made no mistake in that,
but I could not buy copper sulfate in plain form, and had
to take a little more refined type (copper sulfate meisk);
they said it would only make it stronger, that is the only
difference in all. General M. I. L. said he thought every
battery should show a voltage of some kind, and there is
no spark or sting to touch. If this copper sulfate did not
work, then there is no way to make a battery at this time,
as the ingredients cannot be bought. Will you please tell me
what to do next? I am very much better by just the Swedish
massages, and only stiff and a little pain occasionally, and
Vitamin B Complex."
7/11/44 EC's letter: "With the Appliance there is no
indication of charge... You may not feel any current at
all... Use the machine just as has been suggested, and Mr.
Godfrey can send you the material for the recharging of the
machine any time. Don't try to use it more than 30 days
without recharging it. Then you will find that you will
get results..."
3/13/50 Questionnaire sent. No reply.
5/26/52 Comment by GD: "EC knew nothing about [
5129]'s
specific illness before the Reading. The arthritis and
multiple sclerosis described in the Physical Reading were
confirmed by Mrs. [
5129] in her letter of
5/24/44."
5/29/52 No record of verbal or written contact on this case
since 1945, when Mrs. [
5129] wrote that Mr. [
257] sponsored
her reading.
4/18/60 Harmon Bro's letter: "Do you want to have someone
check on Mrs. [
5129], wife of General [...] who claims a
reading told her she had multiple sclerosis, incorrectly?
I'd like a copy of the reading and report, to show Gus."
