Do take plenty of chicken and milk and eggs, but only take
the yolk of the egg. This may be prepared once a day, or
once every other day, with spiritus frumenti and milk with
the egg. Use just sufficient amount of spirits frumenti to
cook the egg as it is poured in it, very small quantity until
it cooks the egg, then add the milk with a little sugar, but
not too much. Use honey and the honey comb as sweets, and
all of those raw vegetables that the body can well eat,
including watercress, celery, lettuce, carrots, leeks,
radishes, onions, chard and mustard and the like, not
necessarily all of them at once, but some one of them
every day. These may be used with oil or salad dressing.
The beef juice is very well, in the present not prepared too
well, but only use the very lean, and cook this with no water
for at least three hours, press the juice out and season to
taste. Do not take more than one teaspoonfull at a time,
for too much of this will upset the digestive system, until
there has been a change in the flow of the lacteal duct
and the activities far digestion, by the supplying of the
hydrochloric acid (in the Acigest) in the duodenum and
lower portions of the stomach itself.
Do have occasionally, once a week, a thorough osteopathic
relaxing treatment.
Thus we will get rid of these disturbances. That there has
been some adherence in the pleura is indicated, but this will
be changed with the inhalations and with the massage, and
should be eliminated very soon and cause less irritation in
the trachea and bronchi and less profuse spittle raised by
the coughing.
Keep quiet but do keep in the open.
Ready for questions.
(Q) Does any malignancy exist?
(A) Not as we find as yet.
(Q) What is the condition of the rectum?
(A) This as we find is from strains which have existed, and
is not so well, but with the changes by the massages and the
diet, this condition should be aided.
(Q) What is the skin condition on the hands?
(A) Poor eliminations. These will disappear as the
changes are wrought in better circulation establishing
their eliminations.
(Q) Does the drinking of alcoholic beverages affect this
patient?
(A) It affects the body. While we are suggesting giving
some small quantity, taken in the manner as indicated would
be beneficial, not harmful.
(Q) Is there any special work or occupation that would be
helpful?
(A) Not at the present, but a little bit later on anything
that would have to do with weaving, either baskets or cloth,
would be well.
(Q) Is the mental outlook constructive and healthy?
(A) A little bit, but it is almost where it doesn't care.
Do create better activities for creative things, and there
would be very much improvement for the body.
We are through with this reading.

BACKGROUND
Born
12/10/78 in Georgia; married; 3 children.
1/26/44 Wife's letter: "I have received your letter of Jan.
8, in answer to my telegram asking for an emergency reading
for my husband [no record of this wire in A.R.E. files].
Dr. Wood told me of the great number of requests for readings
that you had filed, but I felt that in the case of acute
illness, an exception might be made. I also know that when
one has direct guidance to do a thing, it must be the right
thing to do, and the way will be made clear. I have also
received the pamphlet 'Edgar Cayce, His Life and Work' and
hasten to send the application blank... Believing as I do,
that with God all things are instantly possible, I am filled
with hope that you may be the channel through whom my husband
may regain his health. Knowing that we have all come on this
plane to fulfill a purpose, I would like to have a Life
Reading for myself... My younger son who is now in the Navy,
would also be greatly helped by a Life Reading..."
2/20/44 Wife's letter: "...I have asked my husband's
physician for a list of questions, but to date they have
not been forthcoming, so I am enclosing a list of questions
that have occurred to me. I am particularly anxious to
know whether my husband is in any immediate danger, as I do
not like to leave him fearing that some serious condition
may develop. (1) What is the condition of his throat and
trachea? (2) What causes so-called 'tickling' in the throat?
(3) What would relieve or cure this condition, and prevent
paroxysms of coughing? (4) What is the condition in the
bronchial tubes and lungs? (5) What is the condition in
the pleura? (6) Why has he no appetite? (7) What causes
sensation of indigestion after meals? (8) Is beef juice as
given now, good for the patient? (9) What is the condition
of the intestines and rectum? (10) Is the use of vitamin
tablets indicated; if so, which ones? (11) Would any newly
discovered drug be helpful? (12) Is there any special place
in this country, or in some other country, that would be
especially beneficial to him? (13) Is it injurious for him
to go up and down stairs? I am so filled with hope, that
through this reading we may find the solution of my husbands
difficulties. I shall spend the hour of the reading with you
in thought and prayer, and endeavor to follow the directions
given for the treatment of this case..."
2/22/44 Wife's letter: "The doctor has just telephoned to
say that he has a list of questions ready for me to pick
up. I am glad that they decided to cooperate with us.
The questions are as follows: (1) How serious is his lung
disease? (2) Why does he get up at night so frequently? (3)
Is his diet adequate? (4) How long a time should he be in
bed, to insure healing of the lungs? (5) Why does he raise
so much sputum? (6) Is his present treatment sufficient to
keep him in good health?"
3/02/44 EC's letter: "Due to illness, I have been unable to
keep any appointments for readings for the last few weeks.
Since it is several months before I can find an opening for
these readings, I have missed, please let me know if you wish
to wait for another appointment..."
3/15/44 Wife's letter: "I am deeply distressed to hear that
you have been indisposed, and trust that you will soon be
able to continue your work... I shall wait until you have
the opportunity of giving the reading..."
5/16/44 Wife's letter: "I have before me your letter of
March 29... My husband will be in his room on the 2nd floor
of ... Pennsylvania Street. I hope to persuade him to remain
lying in bed during the time of the reading, and I myself
shall dedicate the time to meditation, remaining in the room
with him. You have the list of questions I mailed to you on
the 20th of Feb., also the questions that one of his doctors
gave me. I should like to add several question: (1) Would
the drug Diasone be indicated in my husband's case? (2) What
causes the irregular bowel movements? (3) Is there any trip
that would be beneficial to my husband? (4) Would it be safe
for me to make a trip to the west coast for several weeks, or
would my leaving him have a depressing effect? (5) Is there
any one whom I could secure to stay with him during my
absence that would be pleasing to him, so that he would not
be upset? (6) Can anything be done to return the lung to
its normal function, where the frenic [phrenic] nerve was
crushed? Hoping that you have entirely recovered..."
