This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of May, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [5170], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the article in Coronet Magazine.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5170].
3. As we find, there is a lacking of sufficient energies in blood supply; a form of anemia.
4. As we find, we would use oft in the diet the supplementary vitamins especially of B complex and the "E" or the wheat germ oil, see? These as prepared by Squibb would be well for this body. Take one of those a day, and one of B-1 complex. One of the wheat germ oil, and the B-1 complex, see?
5. Also we would continue with the general treatments as given by Dr. White [John F. White, D.O.]. These offer the better opportunity for improvements, not only for the general health but the specific disorders with the ears. More general preparation for the finger surgery, which has aided the most, will make for improvements in this body.
6. In the general activity, there should not be too much exercise, but keep in the open whenever practical and then activities should be more in the morning air. These offer the more helpful influences for the body. Do that.

8. (Q) What can be done to strengthen eyes?
   (A) The same as is indicated, for the general treatments, see? For the upper dorsals and throughout the cervicals for strengthening to the sensory organs of the body. But the assimilations must carry more vital energies and thus suggestions for wheat germ oil, and B-1 vitamin complex. These should be in addition to the regular diet.
   The diet should be so that there's plenty of relaxation, combinations of nuts, green vegetables, fresh cooked vegetables, not too much of meats, but fish, fowl and lamb especially, not fried but broiled, roasted or the like.
   These, as we find, will bring bettered conditions for this body.

BACKGROUND

1. Born 1879 in New York; resides in New York; married; no children.
2. 10/11/43 Letter: "It was with profound interest that I read of your psychic powers... My sister E. D. I. has nearly lost her hearing, and I have lost 10% of my own in the last year. Is there anything we can do reinstate our sense of hearing. Believe it has been caused by a catarrhal condition. Have been to several doctors, but without results... I have never been very strong. Always anemic according to the doctors. Have a very bad feeling in my head, and began losing my hearing 3 years ago, after a head cold. Have had 5 finger operations by Dr. White to remove adhesions from the Eustachian tubes. Have lost 15% [of hearing]. My eyes are also growing worse. I hope the reading may be very plain, as I want to cooperate 100%... I hope to have a Mental and Spiritual Reading later..."

REPORTS

1. 6/23/44 Letter: "...I was alone in my home. I spent the hour on my bed in meditation and prayer in hopes that I might be conscious of some power working over me, but I did not sense anything out of the ordinary. I am very pleased with my reading. I was able to get Squibbs B Complex but not the Wheat Germ Oil. It has been ordered direct from the factory, and I expect to get it before long and begin the treatments... Please extend my thanks to all who took part in my reading. I will report a month or so later."
2. 11/14/44 Letter: "We who have been so much benefitted by your readings ought to be more prompt in telling you so... I began taking Vitamin B-1 Complex and Wheat Germ Oil Capsules. Was not able to find Squibbs in this section, so took what I could get. Have been taking them regularly since 6/15/44. I really feel so much better and many of my friends remark I owe it all to you. Many are interested, but I don't think any of them have ever written you. My hearing has remained about the same. Dr. White, with whom I had treatments, has moved to ... N.Y. Said he didn't advise any more treatments and he did not believe in super-power. I was sorry to hear him say that, because in many ways he is a very fine man. Only yesterday, I learned I could get Squibbs products from Montgomery & Ward..."
