F 52 (Widow, Methodist)

This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of June, 1944, in accordance with request made by the daughter, [...], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. S. T. O.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Jeanette Fitch, Stenos.

Time and Place: Set bet. 3:30 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Fla.

TEXT

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.
  2. EC: Yes, as we find, there is little materially that may be administered for any physical help in this present experience for this body.
  3. There should be rather those administrations of the mental and spiritual help which may be given by those who are near and close to the entity who may apply such in their own lives to make easier that journey which this entity soon must take. For life is not spent just because changes come about, but the greater opportunity for this soul-entity is to be released from the suffering. For, in the same manner as He, who is the way, suffered, so must each individual meet that in the flesh; that we may know that the Savior bears with each soul that which will enable life, consciousness, to be a continuous experience.
  4. Thus it behooves those who seek help, even, to be patient, to be gentle, to be kind to others. For this entity needs not, save the assurance that those whom she holds near and dear will strive the harder to meet her again in that better understanding.
  5. We are through with this reading.

BACKGROUND

  1. Born Alabama, 4/15/92; res. Florida; 3 children.
  2. 5/18/44 Daughter's letter: "I am writing you in regard to my mother who is an invalid. She has been sick nearly 10 years, and getting weaker all the time. At present, she cannot feed herself or turn in bed, or walk, and can speak only in a whisper, which is very hard to understand. Mrs. S. T. O., a good friend of ours, called me 2 weeks ago, and asked me to read 'There Is A River', with my mother in mind. Your sister [635] was kind enough to loan me her copy... I enjoyed it so much and wrote mother about it, and she telephoned me to write you right away... The doctors have given her up, and say there isn't anything that can be done for her, but I am sure Dr. W. E. S. in ... would cooperate with us if the reading gives anything a doctor would have to do..."
  3. 5/29/44 [5194]'s card: "In a recent letter to my daughter, you said I may ask some questions: (1) Do you think the new drug penicillin will be beneficial in my case? (2) If we perfect a cure, will the trouble return? (3) Why does my flesh burn so?"

REPORTS

  1. 9/30/49 Questionnaire sent daughter. No reply.
  2. 1/24/52 Questionnaire-letter sent daughter. No reply.
