This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of June, 1944, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [5212], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, "There Is A River".

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, as we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the best physical functioning of this body. These have appeared as minor disturbances for a long period of time without these being corrected, and there has gradually grown constitutional disturbances which have become partially neurotic, with partially the continued enjoying of poor health.
3. This primarily arises from adhesions which exist in portions of the jejunum, in the areas just below the lacteals or heavy lacteals in the right side of the body, very close to the gall duct area. Hence the body has had, through these periods, long sieges when it became necessary that large quantities of laxatives or eliminants be taken for a long period, or only when some inflammation or flare up has come by some disagreement of some fecal forces in body, has there been any proper or correct amount of eliminations.
4. These, as we find, should be gradually, not all at once, but gradually broken up; first by applications in series of Castor oil Packs over the areas of the right side, extending from the lower portion of the gall duct area to the caecum. These we would apply with three or four thicknesses of flannel saturated with Castor Oil, directly to the body. Then apply heat for an hour.
5. When this is taken off, do have this area massaged with Peanut Oil, all the body will absorb. It would be well first to cleanse same with a weak soda solution.
6. Do this about three days in succession each week. Then we would have Olive Oil taken internally, not large doses in the beginning, but small doses often. This will not be habit forming, it will aid in increasing eliminations and making for bettered conditions through the body.
7. After this has been kept up, say for two or three weeks, then rest two or three weeks from it and then apply again two or three weeks, and again leave off.
8. Then we would have osteopathic adjustments which will be found to be needed in the areas of the 6th dorsal, throughout the lumbar and sacral area, and in the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st cervicals.
9. In the matter of the diet: Throughout these periods not too much of heavy or of highly seasoned foods, though the body is not a large eater, but eat a lot more, and have those things which are easily assimilated or liquid-digested or semi-solid foods.
10. Do these and we will bring much better conditions. It will require long periods.
11. We would have the osteopathic treatments twice a week until about ten or twelve are taken. Leave them off a period and then begin again. This has been of long standing. It can be eliminated and better conditions can be brought if the body will be consistent and persistent in physical activities and diets and in the administrations of those things suggested. Do that.

13. (Q) Why am I nervous?
    (A) Those pressures on the general nervous system, owing to toxic conditions throughout the body. Do as has been indicated and we'll make better conditions.
14. (Q) What may be done to enable to me to sleep well at night?
    (A) Get rid of the toxic poisons and pressures on the nervous system. These will be found gradually to enable the body to sleep much better.
15. (Q) Please advise me how I may be able to lead a more constructive life.
    (A) We are trying to do this in the suggestions as for better physical conditions. Under the distress that the body has labored for years little might be considered, only short periods when the body was not under stress or strain. But with the corrections and when the packs are made and the massage that should follow same, over the whole of the abdominal area, use those periods for planning how ye may be more helpful to bring peace and harmony to others not by giving but by living and giving of self in its own activity. For as ye give to others, ye gain strength in self.
