(Q) What laxative would be best for this body?
(A) For this body, we would alternate. Occasionally, for
two or three periods, once or twice a week, use a mineral
salts such as Honeyida water or French Lick water, or
occasionally use Sal Hepatica. Then in the next period use a
vegetable base entirely, such as Dr. Caldwell's Syrup of
Pepsin, or use senna pods, three or four pods put in a cup
and this filled with hot water; let it stand for thirty
minutes, drain, cool and drink. This is the better one of
the vegetable base though the Honeyida is the preferable of
the mineral base or the French Lick water.
(Q) What is the best treatment for the scalp?
(A) Use Fitch's scalp remedy, using Quin Oils.
1 These will
make for improvements of the conditions. For these are parts
of the conditions of the cervical and dorsal which will be
improved by the osteopathic adjustments.
(Q) For freckles?
(A) You'd better try to keep your freckles and not try to
get rid of them. Genuine Black and White for skin is
preferable for such, but these are in the pigment of the
skin, and unless you wish to upset something else, don't
attempt to bleach more than you would have from the regular
condition. These are partially liver conditions but don't be
touchy about freckles, they're good for you.
(Q) How long will I be able to continue in work I am doing?
(A) Just how long do you wish to continue? There will be
others who will have to care for it when you are not
here.
2 Don't let this disturb you, because you will live as
long as you desire and do good for others.

9/22/60 GD's note: Druggist tells me he used to carry a
brand name of Fitch's called Fitch's Quinoil. Hence the
sentence should read: "Use Fitch's scalp remedy, uaing
Quinoil's."]

REPORTS
7/15/50 Comment by [
585]: "Miss [
5223] did not follow her
reading; heard Atomidine was bad for her heart and would not
take it, so didn't follow any of it."
5/24/51 Comment by [
585]: "Tuesday night [
5/22/51] Miss
[
5223] had a pain in her chest, could hardly get her breath.
On Wednesday morning she felt okay, and went out in the yard
and picked daisies. That night she had another attack. The
doctor came and put her to bed. Told her she must stay flat
on her back for 3 weeks, not even getting up to go to the
bathroom. It's a clot - calls it coronary thrombosis."
5/24/51 GD's note: I took her extracts, [
777], [
1010] and
[
1071], but she did not follow them.
6/09/51 Comment by [
585]: "Miss [
5223] died tonight in a
local hospital. She was apparently better and planning to
come home in a few days. Had an attack and passed out. The
nurse was with her."
10/18/52 Dr. D. H. Fogel said Miss [
5223]'s reading should be
indexed under Goiter, Non-Toxic.
