BACKGROUND
11/10/43 Daughter's letter: "I have before me Thomas
Sugrue's unusual book There Is A River, and having read it
with great interest, I wonder if you with your extraordinary
talent can help us. Judging from the book, I do not need to
detail symptoms at great length. My father has a heart
condition that makes walking or exertion difficult and
painful. Also his digestion is poor, and that seems to have
an adverse effect upon the heart. Of course, he has been to
his doctor, but both conditions, though temporarily aided by
medicine remain. Since I keep house for my father, I wonder
if you can give me any dietary suggestions that I can follow
to improve his digestion..."
1/16/44 Daughter's letter: "...I am sure that my father will
try to be in the proper mood at the appointed time, for he is
seeking help and will cooperate to the best of his
ability..."
5/21/44 Daughter's questions submitted in addition to those
at end of 5225-1: "My father will be at this home... If the
reading does not cover these points I would like the
following questions asked: (1) Have you any dietary
suggestions to make?..."
REPORTS
9/26/49,
12/27/51, Questionnaire was sent seeking a report.
No reply.
2/21/52 GD's note: Mr. [
5225]'s daughter, who handled all
correspondence in connection with his reading, maintained
continuous interest in the A.R.E., especially the lending
library, through 1950. At no time, however, did she comment
on her father's reading or on whether or not the treatment
was followed.
10/03/68 Mr. [
5225]'s daughter visited A.R.E. and reported
that her father had a heart condition and that the doctors
would not follow the reading. (Apparently he died many years
ago.) She gave us her current address and expressed interest
in the work being done now by A.R.E.
