This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 16th day of June, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self, Miss [5241], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis and Jeanette Fitch, Stenos. [5241] and her mother. Born January 31, 1925, in Norfolk, Virginia.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [5241].
3. Here we have the records of an unusual personality and individuality, and the closer the individual makes the present personality and the individuality of the entity one, the more that may be accomplished in this present experience.
4. There will be found few individuals who have innately, though very probably not aware of it at all in the present, the abilities to heal with the hands as much, and they're not bad looking hands! Look at them! These carry then, not necessarily in the hands themselves but in the individuality of the soul of the entity, real help that the entity may bring, may give to others. There would be very few instances where the entity would not or could not, if it would attempt it, heal a headache in a few moments and only by quieting.
5. Thus those things of spiritual nature, or of divine science, and those things of spiritual as well as psychological nature - should the entity study and apply in self's experience with others, though this may never be done save by and through the entity keeping itself in accord with divine purposes. Not that the entity is to be "goody-goody". Just be good for something and, as is and will be indicated, if the entity will apply itself in those directions, there has been the gift, as it were, of the Maker, from the Maker, to the entity, that it may use same in its relationship with the fellowman, not for the vainglory, but as an expression of the divine in and through the relationships with others.
6. Abuse it or reject it and we'll find hardships, confusions, may come to the entity. But as a nurse, as a healer, itself, as in application along any of these lines where this may be applied, the entity may become, not merely well-known, for it isn't to the glory of self, but the glory of the Maker, that these should be applied in the experiences of the entity.
7. From astrological aspects we find Jupiter, Venus, Saturn are the latent urges. There is within the innate feeling, the personality, the individuality wanting to do something, not merely because it would be big, not merely to be well spoken of, but as the innate feeling of wanting to be worth while, wanting to be an expression of something out of the ordinary. Well, ye have it! Use it, don't abuse it, don't neglect it!
8. In Venus is the appreciation of the beautiful, of those things which are harmonious, and thus, as the entity will find in whatever group or crowd it may find itself, it only has to speak or to express its own feeling and not try to cater to someone else, and it will have all in the crowd seeking something, asking something of the entity. Thus the magnetic feeling, healing, don't misuse and don't neglect in the body.
9. In Saturn we find quite a variation, or changes that have come or may come in the experience of the entity. These, then, may come the better in the preparation of self: know that ye are indeed a favored child of God. Then just act like it! Begin with the study of this in self and remember as though it were: this is the divine speaking as to the self. Read it in Exodus 19:5. Then study and analyze the admonitions which are given by Moses, the lawgiver, when he was ready to depart, in the 30th of Deuteronomy. Then as that in the 91st Psalm, then the 23rd Psalm and 24th Psalm. These are as admonitions, not as that which would separate you from the social life but rather bringing into your personality and individuality the divine which will attract you to, and be attracted to, that which will bring the greater harmonies in thy life. For as has been indicated in His promises, "God will not withhold from those who love His coming any good thing, physically, materially or spiritually." But remember all is provisional, provided ye keep and love His commandments, and these are not grievous but are just every day living. Use it.
10. As to the appearances in the earth, these we find at variance in many ways and manners, or apparently so. While all are not given here, these are given as an indication, as a pattern, as to how, as to where, the entity has gained and now has the ability to either use or disregard that which it has built into its inner consciousness.
11. Before this we find the entity was in the city now called the "city of brotherly love" in those periods when there were those activities which brought about what is called the Revolution. The entity was then in the home of one who acted as a helper, as an aid to the cause for freedom, in the name then, Esther Glaub.
12. The entity was a helper throughout that period in aiding in instruction, in carrying messages in those activities as related to those who were in authority, even to Washington himself. For the entity was even blessed by Washington. In the experience the entity gained, and hence that desire innately for helpful forces, for a universal consciousness of good, for freedom of activity, freedom of speech and those which are active in the entity's consciousness latent; and thus is the beauty, the loveliness of the character of the entity in the present.
13. Before that we find the entity was in the earth when there were those returnings from captivity in the Persian land, when there was the rebuilding of the city, when the first of the groups returned to the holy city with Zerubbabel. The entity was among those, being a companion to the priest, Eleazer.
14. The entity was then in the name Juduth. The entity was one who helped prepare again the priestal robes for the people in that first period of preparation, taking from the records which were again discovered there, and thus the entity brought to self, brought to the many, a greater knowledge of the closeness of the Father-God to man in this new period of activity.
15. Thus in the present, not over-zealousness of the Lord, or the word of the Lord, but the innate ability of being pleasant, of being consistent, of being in that place of not finding fault with others. This is a lovely experience and don't be afraid, there is not but few that have that consciousness as ye have in thyself. But don't abuse it, don't misuse it! For it is of the divine.
16. Before that we find the entity was in the Egyptian land when there were the activities in the preparations for the exit from Egypt to the favored land, the people through whom was chosen the hope of the world.
17. The entity was then the close friend of Joshua. Yes, one of those to whom Joshua was engaged, as would be called in the present, and of the daughters of Levi, not the same as Moses and Aaron but rather of Korah. There we find the entity beautiful, lovely, beloved of Joshua and yet weak in body, because of conditions under which the entity had in a portion of its experience labored, and thus weak-lunged, passing away during the period of the journey to the Holy Land. But to have been beloved of Joshua was sufficient to have builded, into the personality, that individuality of the entity, that which still makes the entity beloved of all who know the entity best, loved by all its companions, its associates, just as in those experiences with the great leader who was to carry the children of promise to the Holy Land.

19. As to the abilities of the entity, then, that to which it may attain and how:
20. These are limited only to that which is the choice and application of the entity in those directions indicated. Not that a home should not be established, not that there won't be a beautiful home, but choose one in accord, not in discord with the abilities in self.

22. (Q) Considering my abilities and the purpose for which I entered the earth this time, would it be advisable for me to enter college at this time?
    (A) Enter rather a nurse training or the psychological study as a technician, but college is not necessary. But better a pre-medical degree would be had, yes.
23. (Q) What college would be suggested in making this preparation?
    (A) Any of those which have a good psychological or psychology group.
24. (Q) How may I make a better social adjustment with those whom I am associated in the present?
    (A) There is no need to make it better if you'll only be yourself!
25. (Q) What causes the fear in the present with others?
    (A) Read what has been indicated as to the abilities. For the entity knows innately, if it would let itself go, it could wind any of those of its own sex or the opposite sex, if it would.
26. (Q) What have been the associations with mother?
    (A) Mother in the Egyptian experience and a friend and associate in the one before this.
27. (Q) My brother?
    (A) We don't find the brother. That's why ye have these differences.
