This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of June, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [5287], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5287], present in this room.
3. Now, as we find, there are conditions the correction of which would make for much nearer normal functionings in this body. These have to do with the activity of organs as related to the nervous systems of the body, and the results which are produced by this disorder.
4. Partially these arise from pressures which exist in portions of the body, others from the disturbance of the local nature.
5. These, then, are those conditions as we find them with this body, [5287], we are speaking of, present in this room.
6. The blood supply shows a deficiency. There is a tendency towards a character of anemia, and this comes from these pressures which exist in cerebrospinal system, and as related between the assimilating system and the supply of energies which build for the red blood cells in the body; and portions of the combination of the reflections in the organs themselves arise from this, or this produces the conditions as in spleen, as we shall see.
7. In the nervous system we find the basis of the disturbance. In the 9th dorsal, through the brachial center and through the 3rd cervical center are the sources, where there are the subluxations which cause conditions through the pelvis to set up the disturbance for the inactivity in those periods when there should be a normal elimination through the body-functionings. Hence the periods of headaches, upsetting in the digestion, the weakness which arises from this combination from the plexus of the digestive force itself. Hence from the 9th dorsal these are disordered.
8. As to the organs themselves, as indicated there are those periods when the suppression in the nervous system causes a disturbance to the functionings of the glands, the eliminations of the activity in pelvis.
9. There are those periods when there should be the replenishing from the assimilating system and, because of those disturbances in body, these react upon the sympathetic reflexes to the activity in the pancreas and the spleen.
10. In making corrections of these conditions, first there should be, through mechanical adjustments, the relieving of the pressures which exist in the 3rd cervical, throughout the brachial, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th dorsal, 9th dorsal and through the lumbar and sacral areas. These we would have rather in a series, osteopathically administered. Have at the first period about eight of these adjustments, about twice a week.
11. Then have the rest period, and during this take, for six weeks, a compound prepared in this manner:

    Yellow Dock Root.............2 ounces,
Burdock Root.................1 ounce,
Buchu Leaves...............1/2 ounce,
Podophyllin................1/2 grain.

12. The Podophyllin preferably used, to the Mandrake root. Then add to this one-half ounce of Tincture of Valerian. Boil this together in a half gallon of rain or distilled water. This should be reduced by slow boiling to at least one quart when strained off. When this is strained off, then add to same one and one-half ounces of alcohol, with one dram of Tolu cut in same.
13. The dose of this would be one teaspoonful twice each day.
14. When the better portion of this has been taken, then begin with the second series of the adjustments, having these twice each week.
15. Thus we will find correct these disturbances for the body and bring bettered conditions throughout the system.
16. Through these periods let the body have well balanced diet. Preferably, if meats are taken, only have fish, fowl and lamb. Wild game especially would be well for this body when it is obtainable. Have at least three vegetables which grow above the ground to one which grows under the ground. All of the foods for this body should be well cooked, save just sufficient of the raw vegetables to keep a better balance through elimination; that is, of the alimentary canal. These should include, then, at times, not too oft, but at times, carrots, celery, lettuce, radishes, onions. Any of these which are taken raw but prepare these very thoroughly, either grated or cut very fine. And oft prepare them with gelatin. These will act and react with the activities for this body in a much better manner.
17. Do not take raw apples. Other fruits such as yellow soft peaches, not too much of white peaches; plums are good, no blackberries, or dewberries, or whortleberries. Other fruits, pears are very good, both cooked and raw but not too much of same.
18. Do these if we would have better conditions for this body.
19. Ready for questions.
20. (Q) Who would you suggest to make the corrections?
    (A) If it is done in this area, Ober would be the better for this body.
21. (Q) How may constipation be overcome?
    (A) Read these conditions as we have indicated here, we will find that so far as even the tonic is concerned, the active principle is in the Podophyllin as well as in the Buchu leaves for the organs of the pelvis, and the activity of the kidneys and bladder, which at times gives disturbance from the sympathetic conditions, and these will relieve headaches which occur occasionally.
22. (Q) Why have I not been able to have a child and is it possible for me to become pregnant?
    (A) When these corrections have been made. But with the position of the uterus or of the organs of the uterus in the present, not very probable, but with these corrections and building the body up this may occur, though there isn't sufficient blood in the present even for the proper functioning of the ovaries and tubes. Build the body up, we will make for much better conditions, and then it will be possible and probable.
    Do these things and we will make a much bettered condition, and then it will be possible and probable.
    Do keep, though, the mental attitude creative. Think oft of why, what are the purposes of life, what is life, what would it mean to be responsible for, in body, in mind, in spirit, to have the responsibility of a soul? And ye will find it will awaken within self not merely the desire for a child, but such innately, with Creative Forces or God, may be carried forward then in a manner to be a channel of blessings to others.
23. We are through with this reading.

1. Remarks to GD, just before reading: "Have faint spells - sometimes feel them coming on 30 minutes ahead of time - nervous - not epilepsy, for I am conscious when the spells come on. Had tonsil operation and took me three months to get over it - weak and nervous, crying all the time, in bed. 1. What causes the nervous spells of indigestion?"
