(Physical Suggestion)

EC: Yes, [5288].
We have those conditions, those disturbances with the physical forces of the body, wherein there has been breakage in coordinations between the eliminating channels of the body, poisons which should be eliminated through the respiratory or perspiratory canal or kidneys, or through those centers where coordination is established between the lymph circulation and the cerebrospinal towards eliminating centers is indicated by the patches or activities of the emunctory of the body.
These in lumbar and sacral, 9th dorsal, brachial center, 3rd cervical are indicated as areas, and thus the nerve reflexes in which these poisons manifest in the form of blisters or patches, or splotches where, under the epidermis, there are accumulations of fluids which, as they are broken, produce greater inflammation in portions, wherever it may touch.
While there are periods when there is some nausea, headaches, weakness, indigestion, poor eliminations, all of these indicate how each portion of the body, through the incoordination, puts a greater stress on the organs of the central nerve and blood supply.
At times there are those tendencies for irritation or a cough; at times there are disturbances with the sensory organs, dizziness, blurring of eyes, the hearing, roarings or discomfort, pressure in the ear drums. The activities throughout the body are indicated.
The sources are from clogging, as it were, with oils, the emunctory circulation as related to the cerebrospinal. Thus, as we find, while there are some improvements in the present and there is some more strength, there is gradually growing less and less of the higher temperatures from this inflamed condition throughout the body, it is far from being as yet satisfactory.
We would apply the Sinusoidal or the short-wave which would empty the gall bladder and stimulate to better activity the central forces in the kidneys and body energies with these electrical applications. Use this about once a week.
Twice a week do have a gentle relaxing massage osteopathically administered.
Do take internally three to five drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin in half teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth which would be stirred in half to three-quarters of a glass of water. This take once a day.
If there are those tendencies following these, for one or two days, lack of proper eliminations, use besides the diet, a high colon irrigation.
These, as we find, offer the better prospects; for it's the attitude the body takes, don't attempt to shield self from anxieties but know there are truths, there are conditions one must conform to for bettered improvements through the body, as well as the applications to bring better conditions.
Do that.

(Q) Any special directions for the osteopath?
(A) These would rather be relaxing, than stimulating suggestions in mechano-therapy or the mechanical application and the suggested forces given the body, by those making the applications, see?
(Q) Can this disease predispose me to any other disease?
(A) It may to many, when there is affliction in the controls, as it were of the glands, not only of the body-functioning but of the organs themselves; but keep the attitude of creative helpfulness for others as well as for self.

BACKGROUND

6/19/44 Letter: "I have been in 3 hospitals and treated by many doctors, but only one doctor has made a suggestion as to what he thinks it may be. He said that my symptoms came nearer to indicating disseminated lupus erythematoza than anything else, and that if such is the case, the only thing that medical science can propose is rest, and keep out of the sun. I've been resting and keeping out of the sun ever since I went to the first hospital in Nov., but the disease is still with me. At the last hospital the doctor said that I did not have the disseminated lupus erythematoza, but they didn't have any idea what disease I did have. The illness began in Oct. and I was in bed from Nov. to April, and then spent the month of May in bed. I am stronger now and have no fever at present, but the disfiguring eruption is all over my face and neck. This is the complete report on what all the doctors claim in my 'baffling disease'. 1. What is the disease I have had since last Oct.? What causes it? What can be done to treat it or cure it? Is it possible to cure it? 2. Can this disease predispose me to any other disease? Can it leave me with the symptoms, or with a weakness for any other disease? Can it have any after effects? Can it develop into another disease?"

7/06/44 [5288]'s letter: "The reading has encouraged me and seems more logical and convincing to me than the diagnosis that one doctor made of the case."
7/30/44 Mrs. [5288] wrote detailed description of how her husband was in a prison camp; she had finally been able to get him back home but he was not normal mentally: "The worry, the strain, the constant watching resulted, I am sure, in my becoming ill with what the doctors considered an unknown disease. Can you believe that not one doctor, of all those who have treated me in 3 hospitals, has ever asked me if I were worried or had any problems? Since I'd covered up in front of my own family for my husband I couldn't reveal his condition to a doctor, even though I felt that by talking about the conditions I'd give them a clue that would lead to my recovery. Each time that I went to the hospital it was after a fresh shock supplied by my husband...your reading did take into consideration the mental strain that I was living under, although, as I've said, no doctor ever thought of that angle."
8/14/44 "When Dr. H. J. Reilly, Ph.T, gave me my first treatment he was sure (he told me later) that I was going to have a nervous breakdown. Now I'm so much better that he doesn't fear that any more."

10/03/68 Mr. Robert M. Corey's ltr. to HLC about treatment at H. J. Reilly's for several ailments (See complete ltr. under 3559-1): "I also had a long standing infection of the eyes, 'Blepharitis', and of the face, 'Sycosis Barbae' - (Staphyloccus) both having been intensively treated by specialists for over two years - but without much success... The following is a progress report of the remarkable, lasting results of the treatments with Dr. Reilly...he set up a schedule of therapeutic exercises for me... A series of colonic irrigations was started almost immediately as were cold sitz baths at bedtime. Changes in diet were suggested by Dr. Reilly...precise recipes for food preparation according to the Cayce 'readings'. About one month after starting treatments of every two weeks, there was enough improvement in the 'Prostatitis' to stop the antibiotic drugs. They have never been taken since. The drugs for the face and eyes had been stopped even sooner... The 'Sycosis Barbae' was being treated by a new specialist when I started with Dr. Reilly, and that condition cleared shortly thereafter, not returning again.
