This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of June, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self, Mrs. [5307], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, yes, we have the body here. As we find, [there] is a complication of disturbances here.
3. These in part arise from disorders through pressures in segments along the spine, especially in the ileac plexus; but these, as we find, may respond with other directions which will enable the body to be rid of those disorders through the caecum area and the disturbance which has been a part of disorder in the appendicial area.
4. These, as we find, are from weaknesses which have existed from a great strain put on this body through the umbilical centers. These would respond the more normally from Fume Baths with a gentle massage and then the magnetic treatments.
5. The magnetic treatments would be the right hand placed over the 9th dorsal and the left hand over the umbilical center, or to the upper portion of the umbilical center. These magnetic treatments would be given daily for a period sufficient to remove these tensions and to give the correct vibrations for the unison of activity of the organs of the body with the central nervous system. These would be the better conditions for this body.
6. The Fume Baths would be with Witchhazel in the pint of boiling water to produce the fumes, and then the massage with gentle oil treatments, using Peanut Oil for this, and massage along the spine, not attempting to make corrections but sufficient for the cerebrospinal centers and the sympathetic nerve system and centers to retain or to gain the virility from the strengthening influence of the oils, and with the magnetic treatments bring better conditions for the body.

8. (Q) Would you suggest to obtain these treatments, it would be well to go to ..., Texas?
   (A) This would be very well, if they will give the Fume treatments also. This may be had with a cabinet, or sheets which may be prepared, together with at least two teaspoonsful of Witchhazel put in boiling water that would be kept boiling, and the steam over the body for at least five to ten minutes; then shower off and then the massage along the spine, see?
9. (Q) What is my main health trouble?
   (A) The condition as just indicated in this upsetting for the area of umbilical centers, from which all of the activities of the body feed in parts, see?
10. (Q) Are my teeth contributing to the present illness?
    (A) Not necessarily, rather the condition contributes to the lack of circulation supplying foods for the rebuilding in the gums and teeth. Local attention for these, after corrections, would be well.
11. (Q) What sedative is least harmful?
    (A) Any sedative is harmful, but least for most individuals is Luminal, not a sedative, more a hypnotic, or Aspirin.
12. (Q) Can the sacro-ileac injury caused by osteopath be corrected or is it best left alone?
    (A) Is not an injury but a strain from not considering the conditions existent in the umbilical centers. Do these things and we will make better conditions for the body.

BACKGROUND

1. 9/08/43 Letter: "I have been below par for over 10 yrs. but the past 18 months have been very bad due to over-treatment of the nerves of the spine by an osteopath in ... In 3 weeks or so I expect to go to ... to Dr. [...]'s drugless sanitorium. He is a magnetic healer, well spoken of by persons here. I hope I am on the right track - the army doctors helped me not one bit."
2. 11/30/43 Mrs. [3433] had a Physical Reading via Mrs. [5307]'s recommendation.
3. 6/23/44 Letter: "I am going to send to the hospital in ... for the X-rays & case history which they worked up on me this month and send it to place with my reading in the file. The doctor made much of my peculiar appendix, so if the reading described it, it would be scientific evidence. I was told that they knew there was a cause for the nerve pain but that I'd have to go to ... to find out what it is. I know of another case like mine that has been thru clinic after clinic without results - I feel I know where the trouble lies. I intend to write up a case history for the file when I am well enough and also to follow thru afterwards if I am able. The other case I mention began after a broken leg - mine has been greatly aggravated by injury to spine by an osteopath." 1. Please outline suitable diet. Are there any cereals that could be digested? 2. Were B-1 shots a contributory factor in bringing on present attack? 3. What virtues has the Aloe Vera plant, which has proved helpful? 4.
