This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 21st day of August, 1924, in accordance with request made by her father, Mr. [...].

TEXT

1. GC: You have before you the body of [5313], who is located at ... Road, ..., Ohio. You will give in detail the physical and mental conditions of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the correction of same, giving in detail how this should be done.
2. EC: Now we find the body not as good physically, or mentally, as we had this before, for we find in the preparations as given these were not compounded correctly. Hence there were, and are, some physical effects produced in system that were at a disadvantage rather than beneficial, yet in some physical conditions that relate to the physical effect upon the mental manifestations in the body those from other conditions of a biological nature have and do exist in the system.
3. Now, from the physical, these are conditions as we find them in this body at the present time. However, to give in detail the physical and mental, we must separate each, and give the biological and pathological effect as produced in the body, are we to give that condition that will bring the correction for this body, [5313], we are speaking of.
4. In the physical forces, these we find are very good. With the properties as taken in the system, there are disturbances in the blood supply and the exciting of some of the glands in the system that produce a pathological condition in circulation, for the condition in the cellular and plasmatic condition in body becomes exaggerated in the system causing the change in assimilation throughout the body. This in the biological effect between physical and mental condition producing in the pituitary gland, and the pineal gland, those conditions that find their physical manifestations in the brain centers that produce the taxing in the mental forces. This becomes an exaggerated condition of that in the generative glands as create the cellular forces of reproduction in the body. Hence at the times of expulsion from the system of such conditions, or the overflow in the system [menstruation], the pressure on the glands becomes too strong and the body suffers more from the conditions at such times than at others. This, then, being the effect, physical effect, in the body.
5. As to the mental forces, this we find very good from the mental standpoint, yet with this condition in a physical sense being and transpiring in the physical body the reaction through mental attributes finds the effect in mental, and in the manifestation of the sensory system especially in the body giving these physical conditions as are shown through mental: Inability to control its desires in the body from any desire center as is manifested, either in the brain forces [or] through any organs of the system.
6. Then to reach this condition at the present time, we have three channels through which this may be met and brought to the normal forces. Through that of the medicinal properties that will be acted upon in the system by the vibrations that will change the relation of the pituitary and the pineal gland in its effect on mental forces in the body, and through that channel that the mental forces will be awakened to the developing of the I AM elements in the physical that will control, through the mental, the desires of the physical forces manifested in the body.
7. One will be reached through the medicinal forces as in this, and in this proportion and manner should they be combined:

   Tincture of Valerian.............3 ounces,
Iodide of Potassium.............10 grains,
Bromide of Potassium.............8 grains,
Elixia Calisaya..................2 ounces,
Elixia Celerena..................1 ounce,
Capsici..........................1 minim,
Oil of Peppermint................2 minims.
Sufficient simple syrup to make 10 ounces.

   Shake solution well together before any properties are taken, and one teaspoonful should be taken every four hours, and each evening, after this has been taken for at least five days, apply the vibrations of the heavy voltage of violet ray to the first cervical and across the lower portion of the dorsal, lumbar and sacral region, and across the groin of the body, for at least fifteen minutes; that is, the whole treatment combined, the greater part across the lower portion of the body and at least five minutes to the base of the brain.
8. In the second manner, or that as reached through the mental forces, would be through the application of the truths and of the action of mind with mind as reached through that of forces as applied in Christian Science.
9. The third force that may be applied, unless the body responds to these conditions soon, would be through that as is accorded physically, pathologically, biologically, and mental conditions as are treated in Still-Hildreth Hospital of Macon, Mo.
10. Do these, else we will find bad conditions for this body.
11. Through medicinal forces apply as given. Be sure they are correct, else we will have the reaction as we have had.
12. We are through for the present.
