EC: Yes, yes, rather serious are the disturbances here. As
we find, there has already been the damage in the hemorrhage
in the central portion of brain. This may be prevented from
recurring but as to gaining control of the use of the body
in these afflicted areas little help may be had owing to the
age and owing to this being the second stroke. For the third
very probably will not occur. But we may keep this down by
a daily gentle massage, all away from the head. Not merely
along the spine, but along either side of the spine where the
sympathetic nerves parallel at cerebrospinal, see? And this
should extend even on to the feet, down the backside of the
legs. This should be with the combination of two ounces of
Peanut Oil and one ounce of Olive Oil.
When this has been massaged in, as much as possible, then
sponge this off with lukewarm water, and then apply the
electrically driven vibrator (sponge applicator) but
always away from the head.
Don't let the body take any foods or strong drinks or
carbonated water or those which carry malt or hops in
same. No heavy meats; a little fish and fowl may be taken
occasionally. This never fried. Vegetables and fruits are
also well for the body.
These will help, but these will not cure the body.
We are through with this Reading.

BACKGROUND
4/10/44 [
5336]'s letter: "I have had 2 paralytic
strokes, the last one about 5 years ago. Doctors claim I
will have no more. After being in a terrible condition I
have gotten so that I eat well and am able to be up every day
and walk some but have a lot of trouble walking on account of
dizziness. My worst trouble is a thumping in my right temple
which causes me much concern about my head. If I lie down
during the day my head starts to thumping. I have trouble
going to sleep. Sometimes at night in my bed my head starts
to thump and I will smoke about 1/4 of a cigarette and the
misery will stop. My equilibrium is bad. If I can get
relief from the trouble in my head I would feel like
living... I can get temporary relief with medicine but
I have decided that only through God can I be relieved
permanently. For 5 years I have been unable to work..."
5/21/44 Letter and phone call from wife: "He had a
cerebral hemorrhage in 1935 from which he recovered, then
in 1938 he had another cerebral hemorrhage from which he
has never recovered. He has been in 4 hospitals and 2
sanitariums, and is steadily getting worse; has had 20 or
more doctors, some of them head and brain specialists, also
psychiatrists. He also has head thumping - in his ear...the
stroke has affected his equilibrium and he is dizzy and
gradually getting dizzier, and his head hurts him so bad he
can hardly stand it...the doctors could do no more for him."
6/15/44 Wire from wife: "Physical condition very bad -
has great head and eye misery - has read literature and is
expecting much help from this reading."
