This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [5337], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [2946].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Jeanette Fitch, Stenos. Born November 1, 1903, in Stetsonville, Wisconsin.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [5337], born November 1, 1903.
3. In giving the interpretations of the records here, these we find written, as it were, upon the skein of time and space. For as the light goeth out from the sun and shineth unto the utmost parts of the heavens, it carries with same its healing or its destructive forces with its rays. So with a life experience it is, a life in an entity, as the sun or light from the divine itself, and thus carries its rays of healing, or of such in the universal consciousness as to make for those established relationships with its source of life, the Creative Force, or those which are in opposition with same.
4. Thus is an entity's consciousness builded, the awareness of light, the awareness of hope, the awareness of purpose, in those channels, those means through which consciousness, awareness is builded upon body, mind and soul of any entity.
5. This entity is very lovely in many ways and there are times when it may be so impelling as to rule the influences all about it. There are other times when it is so abhorrent that it creates animosities, it creates an environ of aggravations, and these conditions or periods are those which bring disturbing forces with the entity and those with whom it may come in contact.
6. The body is builded of influences, as the nervous system with the brain as its center, the emotions of the body, and here we find rather an unusual emotion in this body: one very emotional and yet lacking an affection.
7. In analyzing the "musts" and the "don'ts," these depend, of course, upon what the entity chooses as its ideal. For we would give that which, as we find, may make the entity one with the universal consciousness, and thus make for its activities on the earth more pleasant, more helpful, more worthwhile.
8. Astrologically we find Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, all are a part of the entity's consciousness. No one would ever call the entity lazy. Thus the activities in Mars, and yet the very dilatory manner in which the entity may at times react to others causes some disturbance in the minds of others and questions.
9. The entity's abilities in business are good and it would be well for the entity to keep in an activity where it may contact individuals. For the individual personality of the entity, as has been indicated, can, if it will be tempered with mercy, judgment, love, patience, kindness, gentleness, not only build for a very lovely personality, but will contribute much to whatever community or whatever place of activity in which the entity may choose to be active.
10. Then do stay in some kind of business where you meet the public, until your home is to be builded or undertaken.
11. In Venus we find that which at times becomes very disturbing, a passionate individual, yet lacking in affection at times. This brings disorders, this brings misunderstandings.
12. In Jupiter we find the loving, helpful nature, the desire to be kind.
13. In Mercury we find judgment.
14. First, then, in analyzing of self to bring about the better conditions, know what is your ideal, spiritually, mentally, materially. What would be an ideal friendship with anyone? For remember, the Master's way, "Whosoever doeth the will of the Father is my mother, my brother, my sister, my friend." They are as a basis, then; you don't treat one individual one way, and another, another way. In Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, we find the interest of the entity in the unusual. Make this rather of a spiritual nature and we will find we will bring bettered conditions for the body.
15. As to the appearances in the earth, these have been quite varied. While all will not be given, these are the patterns and abilities and manners of application. As first indicated, study to show thyself approved unto thy ideal. Thus, then, find thy ideal first by analyzing of self, not merely in mind, but do make note of same, erase and add to it as ye analyze thine own body. What are the needs of same and what would be the ideal relationships with others in respect to same? What is the ideal of the mind and its relationships to things, spiritual, things material, things physical, or peoples. Then, what is thy spiritual ideal?
16. Before this we find the entity was in the name then Margaret Lawrence, and was in the land of its present nativity. As they journeyed from one portion of the land towards that where there had been reported gold, the entity brought to the groups unison of purposes and the preventing of letting the little things upset. There were hardships; the entity gained through same but the entity also lost in too oft having its own way.
17. Remember, others think also. They have the right of their opinion. There is a way that is right, as in the purpose of the Lord.
18. Before that we find the entity was in the Holy Land during the period when there were those expectancies for the coming of the Master, when there had been those changes for the varied groups because of the land being overrun by the Romans.
19. The entity was among those who made peace with both the Romans and those of the Jewish land and also the Syro-Phoenician group.
20. The entity then was among those of what today would be called the customs, or those making it possible for the Roman and the Jew, the Roman and the Syrian, the Roman and the Samaritan to get together, as it were; and thus a "go-between."
21. The entity in the present is oft made the "go-between," one to whom others come for counsel, entrust some of their secrets, as well as some of what is not always "pretty chatter" but the little "catty" things about others. These the entity shouldn't magnify but minimize. For as ye would be forgiven, so forgive. As ye would be protected by others, so protect those of thine own sex, as well as others.
22. In the experience the entity gained throughout, though in the opposite sex; in the name then Leonax.
23. Before that we find the entity was in the Egyptian land when there were those undertakings of the peoples to be free from the persecutions. The entity was among those who trimmed the beard of others. These were a part of the entity's activities as an Egyptian.
24. Thus the entity knew men, knew women in their activities and became one to whom many came, never acting as a spy, yet as a counselor to various groups. In the experience the entity was known as Ellan. The abilities of the entity in the present as a hair dresser, as a designer of hairdos, arise much from those experiences in that activity. These we would not forget.
25. Before that we find the entity was in the Egyptian land during those period when there were those activities in the Temple Beautiful for the preservation of those activities in the Temple as to choice of individual service or vocational preparations. Here the entity aided in and with those groups when homes were beginning to be established, in the name then Is-Elta.
26. As to the abilities of the entity, then: these are limited only by self. Keep peace, keep in position of helping others.

28. (Q) Should I stay in the same present location as a beauty operator?
    (A) This would be very well. Do stay in business throughout the duration.
29. (Q) Should I keep the barber shop in operation until my husband returns [from the] service?
    (A) We would.
30. (Q) Should I continue to keep my mother-in-law or have her make other arrangements, as there is a lack of harmony between us?
    (A) The lack of the harmony may be overcome. This depends, for you are meeting your own self. Better make harmony and you'll make more peace in the home when changes come about. Not burdening of self, but be so kind, be so gentle, be so patient, that ye will heap coals of fire on her head. Ye can, ye know well.
31. (Q) Is it indicated that my husband and I will be able to resume a normal life after he returns from service?
    (A) Ye will.
32. (Q) I am of a positive, rebellious nature and wonder how to overcome it.
    (A) It has been indicated to thee. As ye would be forgiven, forgive. Finding thy ideal, live up to it, live by it.
