As we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the
better physical functioning of the body. These, as we find,
arise from not proper precautions taken as there should have
been at the birth of the child. And this has left the organs
of the pelvis, and especially pressures which relate to
activity of the kidneys, in such a way that lesions have
formed throughout the lower dorsal and through the lumbar
area, causing those pressures on the locomotory centers as to
make for lameness. The pressures will eventually cause a
great deal of distress with kidneys and bladder and other
serious troubles unless these disturbances are removed.
In the main in other directions, the body is very good,
though to be sure, because of the hindrances in the
circulation, there are irritations over various portions of
the body.
But we would find first we would begin and each day for at
least ten days, an hour each day as the body rests, apply
three or four thicknesses of cotton cloth saturated with
Glyco-Thymoline over the lumbar, the sacral and lower dorsal
area. Let the body lie upon the face and put this pack of
Glyco-Thymoline over the area. This should be nearly all the
Glyco-Thymoline that the cloth will hold, just so it doesn't
soil or wet the bedclothing too much. Keep this on for an
hour.
Then, after twelve days, resting two days in between, begin
with the osteopathic adjustments. These should make for
corrections throughout the lumbar, the sacral and the lower
dorsal area, coordinating the upper dorsal and through the
cervical area with this, taking about fifteen to sixteen
treatments.
Should there be periods when there is greater pain, take a
single cloth saturated with apple vinegar (this is not to be
used until the adjustments have been made, see?). Dip this
in vinegar, rinse it out and then cover same and apply to the
area aching, and apply salt heat to this. These will relieve
the tensions.
Follow through with these, rest a period of a week or ten
days after the sixteen treatments, and it may be necessary to
begin with Glyco-Thymoline Packs again.
Do use Glyco-Thymoline douches, two tablespoonsful of
Glyco-Thymoline to a quart and a half of body-temperature
water. Use this only in a Fountain Syringe. These will
relieve those tensions and irritations and make for much
better condition through the body. Do these while taking the
adjustments. Do this about twice a week, see?
As to the diets, eat plenty of raw vegetables, especially
carrots and lettuce. Do include in these all raw vegetables
prepared with gelatin.
Not too much of hog meat, not even breakfast bacon; rarely
beef, but fish, fowl and lamb in moderation, but more
vegetables than meats.
Thus we will make better conditions for this body [

Ready for questions.
(Q) What is the trouble with my nose (breathing passage) and
throat?
(A) These come from reflex conditions. As the corrections
are made we will change the circulation here to make bettered
conditions. These are reflex.
(Q) In which city or state in the United States should I
live that would be most beneficial to my health and
happiness?
(A) Wherever there is the desire of the body. It is not the
atmospheric or climatic but a specific disturbance. If there
would be the more adaptable, live in the north, West Virginia
in the summer and Florida in the winter.

BACKGROUND
7/17/44 Letter: "For the past 16 years, I have suffered with
such severe pain in my back that besides being bedfast for
weeks at a time I am compelled to walk with a cane much of
the time. I have been to many doctors but they have failed
to cure me." Questions submitted: 1. What is the name and
cause of the illness in my back? 2. What can be done to
effect a cure? 3. What can be done to prevent any
re-occurrence? 4. In which city or state in the U.S. should
I live that would be most beneficial to my health and
happiness? 5. What is the trouble with my nose (breathing
passage) and throat? What shall I do for it?
REPORTS
1/29/44 Letter: "I am so pleased and can hardly wait to
start the prescribed treatments."
8/08/44 "The osteopathic physician I have chosen to treat me
according to your suggestions is Dr. Asa B. Smith, D.O."
1/21/48 Report requested from her and the osteopath.
5/16/60 GD's note: Mrs. [
5364] was married and had one
daughter. A-2 [5364-1, Par. 15-A] is interesting since she
was born in Illinois and at the time of the reading was
living part of the year in West Virginia and part in Florida.
