As we find, there are disturbances here. These arise from
great physical and mental strains under which the body has
labored at times, and there is the lacking of activity in
the functioning of the liver as related to assimilation.
Also there are disturbances of the energies of foods so
assimilated or acted upon through lacteal flow of the
body-functioning from the juices from the liver. We have,
also, a distress in the lumbar axis, and thus, the limbs, at
times, give a great deal of distress, general weakness,
especially through the limbs, through the arms, through the
shoulders.
All of these arise from poisons or accumulations which have
been a part of the general pressure upon the nerve forces
of the body. These, as we find, may be materially aided,
if there will be persistent, consistent application of those
influences and forces which may bring bettered conditions for
the body.
First, we would apply the Castor Oil applications to the
liver and colon duct area, at least three days each week, and
have these consecutively. Use for one hour, at least, three
to four thicknesses of flannel, saturated with oil. Apply
this over the liver and the lower part of the right side
to the caecum area, and then apply heat, the electric pad,
preferably. Keep this for at least an hour, about as warm
as the body can well stand. Do this each day for three days.
Each time after the application, sponge off the area with a
weak soda water, and then apply some good talcum to prevent
irritation.
After the third day, take internally two teaspoonsful of
Olive Oil.
Rest, then, from these, until the same day next week, and
then do this again. Then rest for the third period. Then
repeat same.
Then we would have, professionally given, high colonic
irrigations, to purify the whole of the alimentary canal.
Then we would begin with bettered conditions for building
up resistance in the body, after the system is thoroughly
purified.
Do have, after each of these treatments, a good, thorough
massage of the body, using Peanut Oil as a massage, along
the spine and the limbs. Do these.
In building up the body with foods, preferably have a great
deal of raw vegetables for this body, as lettuce, celery,
carrots, watercress. All would be taken raw, with dressing,
and oft with gelatin. These should be grated, or cut very
fine, or even ground, but do preserve all of the juices with
them when these are prepared in this manner in the gelatin.
Do take a great deal of fowl, as bird, chicken, or the like,
see? This well-cooked, but never fried. Do chew the bones,
especially the bony pieces. These are much preferable to
the breast or the like, but the feet, wings, legs, ends of
the bones should be chewed very thoroughly, as it is from
these that we may obtain the elements needed.
Then we would take, once a day, Upjohn's Liver Extract,
in capsules. If this produces too great an anxiety in the
stomach, then these would be farther apart - that is, once
in two days, or once in three days, but do take them.
A great deal of beef juice should be taken when possible.
Do these and we will build the strength for this body.
Ready for questions.
(Q) What causes the nervous feelings I experience in my
right leg?
(A) As has just been indicated, weakness, and the
corrections are necessary in those directions outlined,
through the massages after each of the Oil Packs.
(Q) Can you suggest something to improve digestion?
(A) First, cleanse the system, then aiding conditions, as
has been indicated. Do that.
We are through with this reading.

BACKGROUND
2/07/44 Letter: "All my life I have not been strong and the
doctors have never been able to find out why this is. I am
dreadfully exhausted at times and sometimes I can't think
clearly. My memory is very poor. In the evening I get very
sleepy and very often have creepy feelings in my legs. Years
ago when I was in high school I would almost fall asleep over
my books in the evening." 1. What can be done for the weak
spells I have occasionally? 2. What can be done for the
chronic constipation? 3. Is my gall bladder functioning as
it should? 4. Why is digestion very good at times and then
there will be a period when nothing seems to agree with me?
