We would, with the ash, give same every other day, see?
We would also give the oils in smaller quantities, so that
assimilation may take place more perfectly. We will find
that we may add that in the food value of arrowroot. This
made in the form of the gruel. We will also find that the
other properties, as the water - these are given well. We
would have a little ice in the elm water, and let same set
for five to ten minutes before being taken. A pinch to the
glassful is sufficient. This stirred well, until there is
the tendency of the activities of the gluco [glucose?] in the
water. In that of the tea, this - of course - may be kept in
a small quantity and taken, provided same is kept cool - but
be sure that this is not soured in any manner, for this would
produce irritation, and bleeding - which would be bad for the
system. We will find that it will improve the conditions,
and the strength of the body, that the enema be first a
little warm, or tepid, rather than gradually cooled before
the oil is given, see? We will find also that there will be
material change in the activity of the spirits frumenti, in
its preparation rather with that so that the reaction is not
of sulphides in any manner. We will find also that the
exercises as may be taken should not be too severe, but just
sufficient that the strength and vitality is kept on the
increase, rather than using UP the energy by too much
exercise. We will find that the oil packs as used are well
to be changed at least twice before the application of the
hot water bottle. These are SMALL conditions, yet will make
MATERIAL difference in the ACTIVITIES of same in system. We
will find that when pain gets severe, will there be applied
to the BACK, OPPOSITE the affected portions, those of packs
of saturated solution of Epsom Salts, will materially aid.
Make as warm as may be stood by the body, NOT to burn same,
see? This should be changed at least twice, and should be
of sufficient density - that is, as much dissolved as will
dissolve - so that the cloths that are wrung out of same
become stiffened with the solution itself. This would be the
test for same. We will also find that light salt rubs across
the small of the back will materially aid the body from
getting tired so easily from long sitting, even under the
conditions of cushions or pillows. This may be given soon
after the baths. Just wet the salt and rub the small of the
back with the palm of the hand; not sufficient to irritate,
but just to stimulate the capillary circulation, see? across
the sacral and small of back. Do that. Ready for questions.
In the preparation of the arrowroot, use about the
tablespoonful to a glass to glass and a half of water. May
be made or cooked as a gruel, or given in small quantities.
Not too much of any food. The food values are well, as being
given. There may be added small quantities of essence of
lactated pepsin WITH the arrowroot if so desired, or there
may be given STRAINED oatmeal. To two tablespoonsful - after
strained, see - add about three to five drops of lactated
pepsin. This may be given once each day. This, as we find,
would AGREE with the body. Be sure, though, it is strained,
or jellied. Preferably use that that is COOKED for a LONG
while, or that that is steel cut oats, see? Cook same for
about three hours. Double boiler. Then strain same.
We are through for the present.

REPORTS
GD's note: Mr. [
5426]'s file is marked DECEASED but there is
not indication of how long he lived after the reading 5426-2.
11/05/85 Mr. [
5426]'s three daughters visited Edgar Cayce
Foundation and GD gave them a copy of the two readings. The
older one told us about her father being in the hospital
after the first reading and when the doctor told him it was
alright to go home he didn't want to go; he was enjoying his
stay.
The daughter thinks he died in August, 1930.
