6/03/31 Daughter [
428]'s letter: "...Mother has improved
much, but is not cured. There is something we do not get or
do not do right... Also, about five weeks ago mother fell
while walking in the street and injured her knee. The shock
and pain weakened her very much, but apparently the injury is
healing well...
"...Following I am asking quite a few questions, but all of
them are necessary, for to the best of my ability I cannot
see where we have failed to carry out your instructions,
excepting, of course, the one mentioned above. [In previous
paragraph, [
428] said her mother was giving herself the
colonic irrigations and [
428] felt they were not what they
should be, but doing it any other way, the mother felt would
be too strenuous for her.]
"1. Are irrigations made correctly? Should they be taken in
a horizontal position and how often a week?
2. Shall the ointment of sulphur and hog lard be continued?
3. Are the baths as given too strenuous for body? How many a
week?
4. Were the violet rays applied correctly and is it necessary
to have more treatments and how many?
5. Is the diet sufficiently laxative. What other foods would
be well outside of those taken now?
6. Is there an injury to body's knee or will time heal the
pain?"
6/17/31 Daughter [
428]'s letter to EC: "...In connection
with this I must ask you to please substitute the following
list of questions in place of the one I sent to you with my
letter asking for a Check reading. I think I have simplified
some questions, others I have left out altogether because
they are no longer necessary, and if Mrs. Cayce finds that
any of the questions I asked are adequately answered in the
body reading, there will be no need to ask them over again.
Question #4 I would very much like to have asked. My mother,
in spite of her advanced age, is an indefatigable worker. It
seems to me she constantly and persistently works off more
strength than she can gather up again and no amount of
telling her is of any use. She even does not follow Dr.
Berger's instructions of rest for her pain in the arm. I am
at my wit's ends and my only hope is that she will do as
comes through you...
"New list of questions: 1. Are irrigations made correctly?
How often in a week should they be given?
2. Are baths too strenuous for body? How often?
3. Is diet correct, more laxative or more nourishing with
meat?
4. How much rest should be taken each day?
5. Any other advice to cure itch?
6. Any other advice to cure pain in arm?"
GD's note: EC's illness necessitated the reading be
postponed from 6/22nd to 6/29th.
