6/24/30 Wife [
310]'s letter: "...Your good letter and
information were most joyfully and gratefully received
Saturday and we wish again that words could express to you
our gratification, as well as gratitude. We are now saying
simply, but most sincerely, we do thank you truly. Your
diagnosis agrees thoroughly with our decision, and we were
already trying some of your suggestions, as well as possible
here at home. All doctors consulted and examining have
agreed with diagnosis, as far as they had gone, and
Dr. Pierson's x-rays showed teeth okay, too. From our
experiences during past sickness of Mr. [
5473] we were
agreeing that colon, intestines, etc., were real cause, all
symptoms only results, and your diagnosis is 100% with us,
and of course we feel that your remedy suggestions are also.
At recent Board Meeting, officers suggested that [
5473] plan
his vacation at any time and for any length of time necessary
to feel better. [She inquired about details of the Cayce
Hospital, rates, etc.]..."
7/05/30 EC's letter [after taking the matter up with the
Board] outlined very moderate rates for the minister and
his wife.
7/06/30 Friend [
4631]'s letter: "...Mr. [
5473] is in such
a bad fix, is going to ..., Georgia, to stay a while with
Mr. [...]. The Church has given him an indefinite leave of
absence. It just makes me sick to look at him; has large
dark splotches on his neck and face... I believe it is as
much worry as anything else..."
7/28/30 EC gave the fifth reading -
5473-5, for which Mr.
[
5473] was present in Virginia Beach.
