Now, the specific conditions have to do with the functioning
of the organs, especially of the pelvis organs, and of
conditions as have had to do with results produced in
digestive system, in the whole of the system as related
to assimilations and as related to the nerve system of the
body. The suffering [is] produced by lesions and adhesions.
Adhesions, ORDINARILY, refer to tissue becoming adhered to
other tissue, or organs becoming so inflamed (as in this
condition) that, with the system attempting to adjust itself
to the NEEDS of conditions, adhere tissue in such a way as to
PRODUCE for the system those conditions that become then such
as is seen here - adhesions or lesions form from adhesions.
Both conditions exist. These also disturb the eliminating,
especially as relative to that of the colon and that portion
of the colon as has to do with the vermiform appendage, or
the appendix, and the appendix region. These, necessarily
produce taxation to kidneys, to the organs of the pelvis
themselves, a drain upon the nervous system, a taxation to
the blood supply. While sufficient VITALITY still remains,
yet why destroy such with etherization as would come to the
central nervous system, would it be found necessary, or would
the operation be resorted to.
Rather, then, by manipulations, osteopathically given, where
CORRECTIONS would be made, and where the placement of organs
and of the tissue as involved would be LOCALLY treated in
such a way and manner as to give relief to the body through
the proper channels, and the system absorbing, throwing off,
breaking up the adhesions, breaking up the lesions and tissue
and organs becoming the normal functioning of same, through
the system adjusting itself vibratorially through the nerve
supply and through the blood forces as would become normal
for all CHARACTER of eliminations for the body.
Then, we would do this under the supervision where such
information as is necessary for the changes that occur may
be followed closely. Do that. We are through with this
reading.

BACKGROUND
7/16/29 Aunt [
310]'s letter: "She is 18, a tiny scrap of
humanity and far from normal physically."
REPORTS
9/23/29 Letter: "...The reading you so kindly gave me
was duly received; it contains some real surprises, and
personally some of the ideas are so new to me that I have to
think much about it. Of course, you understand how all of us
human kind feel about our family physician, so since hearing
from you I have been to see him, and, as he still is rather
decided in his diagnosis, I am taking the privilege of a
personal letter. Having talked quite intimately with my aunt
[
310] of your work, I know your experiences have been many
and that possibly you could give me in a personal letter some
definite suggestions for carrying out the reading. I confess
feeling absolutely lost as to the future; so many doctors of
various kinds and practices are here, as everywhere, that I
am coming to you for any other help you may give. If you may
know of ..., [Tennessee] doctor who is the one for me to see,
I shall very much appreciate this information..."
9/20/29 GD's note: Aunt [
310]'s letter: "...She [
5474]
writes that she has very recently seen her doctor and he
insists that tonsils ought to come out - the sooner the
better. Her physical condition is causing her parents
to keep her out of school, but she is planning maybe on
entering after Christmas..."
Mrs. [
310] thought EC should encourage her to come to Cayce
Hospital to carry out the treatment.
9/30/29 and
10/04/29 EC wrote Mrs. [
310] and Miss [
5474],
suggesting it would be best for her to come to Cayce
Hospital to get the proper treatment.
11/07/29 EC made an appointment for Miss [
5474]'s Father,
[
4788], and again suggested that she come to Virginia Beach
and he would get the reading for the father [
4788] while they
were both present.
3/03/30 Mrs. [
310]'s letter: "...As to our big brother
[
4788], I think he and [
5474] just let time get their
would-be plans and she entered school at ... college, ...,
Virginia, in January. I have no idea that [
4788] plans now
to see you in Virginia Beach, so knowing the situation (yours
and his too) as I do, I think I would give him a definite
date for his reading. In the meantime insist that he visit
you and the Institution at his earliest convenience..."
9/15/30 EC gave the first physical reading for [
4788], who
was present for the reading. Appointment was made by wife
for second physical for Miss [
5474].
9/24/30 EC gave the second reading -
5474-2.
