8/06/56 Brother [
4820]'s letter requested copies of their
readings, indicating he had just read the book "There Is A
River" and his mother had told him about their readings:
"...My mother said she did not remember all of them but she
remembered about the wet battery and said I would not take
the treatments like Mr. Cayce suggested. She said I took the
battery treatment once a week or once every two weeks,
sometimes none at all. The reason for that I did not know
what it was for until only last spring. I shall be very
happy to send you a report on my present physical condition,
also my sister's... My sister [
5485] was born deaf and my
mother did not know it until I was on the way. My mother
said she worried herself sick about me becoming deaf before I
was born. That was exactly what Mr. Cayce said during the
reading for me in 1929. IN my opinion my sister's condition
remains the same since her readings were made because she was
awfully stubborn in taking the treatments. Perhaps she did
not know what it was all about..." [GD's note: See [

subsequent correspondence in his own case series.]
