9/04/28 Mother [
4280]'s letter: "...I wrote you several
months ago, but never have heard any message in reply, so
know you never received it; so I'm writing again, hoping to
have a message as soon as possible in regard to my little son
[
5520]. He has never been well since he had whooping cough
and flu last fall, then nine weeks ago he was stricken with
bloody dysentery, and was so ill that he wasn't expected to
live. He is now able to take milk and gruels, and we have
had two baby specialists to try to help diet him since the
9th of July, but I don't believe in their diet. I know what
you told me is the thing he needs, hence my questions now.
"Should little [
5520] take cooked cow's milk, or cooked
goat's milk? How many ounces does he need in 24 hours?
Should this milk be given diluted now, or full strength?
Can he take Bulgarian buttermilk or will it benefit him now?
Should he take meat broths or any kind of meat? (He needs
iron to make red blood. Would any reduced iron in drugs do
him any good? Please answer this fully. I think he gets
iron from vegetables.) Please name all vegetables he needs
now to build him up, and tell how to prepare them, cooked
how long and which raw? How much orange juice does he
need daily? Should he take apples cooked or raw? Name all
cereals he should eat. Should he eat bananas in any form?
Should he have any sugar at all, if so name kind. Should he
eat cornbread cooked with eggs and soda? Which is the best
way to give him an egg, cooked (and how), or raw? He needs
to gain five pounds. What will best do this? ...[She
reports on readings for herself, husband [
4283], daughter
[
4281], etc.]...
"Now, Mr. Cayce, I shall send you a check on the 20th, so
please give me an idea about how much for these two readings;
and please rush the readings, as I feel my baby's life is
depending on what you can tell me about his diet. He is so
white and thin. Please see how and in what way the baby got
infected to cause the bloody dysentery. Was it raw milk?..."
9/15/28 EC gave the third reading -
5520-3.
