EC: Yes, we have the body here - this we have had before. Now, we find the body changed MUCH since last we had same - [5536] we are speaking of. Some of the conditions apparently are more irritating, and not so much rest for the body. This rather the case of RETRACTION than of bettered or of worse conditions; for, as a WHOLE, the body is in a BETTER CONDITION, that - with persistent and consistent adhering to those suggestions as may be made - will bring about a much more tolerant, a much more pleasant, a much nearer NORMAL force for the physical body.
As has been seen and given in the beginning, this was NEAR a true case of pellagra - affecting in its insidiousness, in the manner of its activity, the lower digestive system.
The operation as was performed, in the attempt to remove EFFECTS produced, was a hindrance - or an opportunity for the condition in its activity in the nth degree to become localized. Growth, heat, light, and proper distribution of the vital forces, the vitality of the body in and through the system, will aid the body in coming to a much nearer normal force.
Discontinue, then, much of that as has been outlined. Discontinue. See?
Begin rather with those of applications of mud from the stream closest to the dwelling of this body. This mud applied once each week, preferably on Thursdays for THIS body - [5536] - and allowed to remain overnight on the dorsal region, from the first coccyx to the twelfth dorsal. That's over the sacral and the lower dorsal, see? or last dorsal. Then cleanse this off with any of soft waters that will cleanse body, and massage this portion of the body - following such cleansing - with equal parts of olive oil and tincture of myrrh. Heat the oil and add the myrrh, making only sufficient to massage for each treatment, see? These, then, coming once each week until at least seven treatments of such are given.
Then begin with the gentle massage over the whole system, applying the rays of the Alpine or Ultra-Violet light - at least forty inches from the body. Apply it along the spine, see? These should not be given for more than one to two minutes for the first thirty treatments - but should be given every other day, and every OTHER day - that is, the day the light treatments are not given - give those of the SWEDISH massage over the whole body, ENDING same with the gentle OSTEOPATHIC manipulation in the lumbar and the dorsal region.
Let the diet be those that are as easily assimilated by the system as is possible. Nuts, fruits, green vegetables - these principally should be taken as the diet at this time.
Then, at the end of these treatments as outlined, we will give further suggestions for this body. We are through for the present.

1/13/29 [5540]'s letter: "...Mr. [...] asked me to send the enclosed application for a second reading for his niece [5536] as they have now carried out the instructions included in your first reading. She includes a few questions that she would like to have answered in addition to whatever ones you think are necessary to continue this case...
"1. Have the instructions given been correctly understood and followed? If not, please correct my error. 2. Shall I continue these instructions or will new ones be given? 3. Has there been any improvement? 4. What causes my ankles to swell when the feet are warm? 5. What causes the welts on back of legs and feet, the right one especially? 6. What causes the pinching sensation at base of brain? 7. Is it the treatments that causes me to be so nervous and downhearted?"
