8/06/29 EC's letter: "...I know what you have to say
regarding Mrs. [
5587]'s decision. I wish that I might be
able to conscientiously say I felt that her coming for the
treatments would be beneficial, but I can't. Of course, you
can very readily see this is what is meant in the readings -
that the body must make some effort itself. I am sure it
would be hard for her for awhile, but I don't believe that it
would really be doing justice to the reading or to herself
for her to undertake the treatments by riding down here
everyday, even for just a little while. I don't know what to
tell you. She will just have to make the decision for
herself. Of course, there would be certain rules to follow
in an institution, and possibly that is what she is most
afraid of. I can't help but feel, though - if I could be
where I could talk with Mrs. [
5587] for a little while, even
every day or two, I believe she would be helped. But she and
you will have to make the decision - I can't make it for you.
I assure you that it is our desire to be of help if possible,
but others have to make an effort themselves, no matter what
we wish to do..."
