EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, we find there are
DISTURBING conditions with the physical forces of the body.
These conditions, when they become acute, are the culmination
of disorders in the eliminating system, as related to the
vegetative nerve system and the reflex as created by the
disturbance in the lymph, as is shown by the character and
nature of abrasions on the body, - face, and portions of
system - the swelling as occurs, that lies - as it were -
BETWEEN the layers of the skin itself. This may be termed
MANY characters of disorders. These being, PRINCIPALLY, that
of catarrhal conditions in the stomach and intestines, or
stomach and duodenum. The RESULT of the disturbance working
WITH the vegetative system, or those as related to the
mesenteric, and naturally they affect in DIFFERENT manners
the blood supply, the liver, the kidneys, the functioning of
the spleen and pancreas, disturbing the digestion at times;
but the greater DISTRESS is caused by ACUTE condition
becoming poisoned by any element that tends to create an
overbalance of the salts, or the system in the alkalin
manner, that causes the eliminations to be thrown THROUGH the
capillary, rather than thrown off through alimentary canal
and through the respiratory system.
Now, to meet the needs of these conditions - we would get to
the BASIC conditions in system, and we would prepare as THIS
for the system - preparing same from the original herbs,
that the reaction in system may be to tone that force in the
gastric juices of the stomach itself, and the effect as to
be had upon the nerve system in such a manner as to reach
the basis of conditions.
To 1 gallon of distilled or rain water, we would add:
Wild Cherry Bark...............2 ounces,
Sarsaparilla Root..............1 ounce,
Sassafras Root Bark............1 ounce,
Black Snake Root...............1 ounce,
Ginseng (wild)...............1/2 ounce,
Indian Turnip................1/4 ounce,
Buchu Leaves..................20 grains,
Mandrake Root.................10 grains.
Reduce this by slow boiling to 1/2 the quantity. Strain
while warm and add, while hot, 2 ounces of grain alcohol with
2 drams Balsam of Tolu cut in same. Shake solution together
before the dose is taken. Take half a teaspoonful before
each meal.
Beware of shell fish, and of any condiments with meats.
Meats should not consist of any save those of fowl, wild
game, mutton or beef - and this provided NONE of it is fried.
More of the vegetables that grow above ground - any that is
of a pod nature very good.
We would ALSO apply those of the green light ray, for
IRRITATION comes from some characters of electrical
forces, and the green will aid in allaying this condition.
We would ALSO be sure that the body drinks plenty of water.
For the abrasions, there may be used occasionally that of a
solution carrying much alcohol and acetanilide - these the
principal basic ingredients, or other properties of the same
character with an astringent added, or that known as any
tetter remedy, or a tetter remedy.
Do that. We will bring better conditions to this body. We
are through for the present.

BACKGROUND
10/30/29 Letter: "...Through the courtesy of Mr. David E.
Kahn I am forwarding this [application] to you in the
anticipation that you will give me a physical reading or
diagnosis of the ailments that I have and which I am unable
to obtain relief..."
11/02/29 DEK's letter: "...He had some very serious trouble
with his body and went to Bermuda to try to cure it. He told
me that if they did not help him, he would like to request a
physical reading as quickly as possible from you. He wrote
the attached letter and telephoned me this morning... I
would suggest asking these questions: What foods should be
eliminated by the body to prevent condition of the skin?
What causes the swelling and what will relieve it to the
head? What diet?..."
REPORTS
11/16/29 DEK wired that they were unable to procure Indian
turnip. EC wired that both Indian turnip and ginseng could
be obtained in Virginia Beach.
12/16/29 Letter: "...In reply to your letter of December 14
[Cayce Hospital questionnaire] in the matter of following the
suggestions outlined in my reading of November 12, 1929,
would state that I have faithfully followed all the
suggestions with the exception of the use of the green ray
lamp. We are not quite clear about this lamp as we have been
unable to locate a sunlight lamp giving a green ray. Will
you kindly advise us on this point at your earliest
convenience?
"We have had the prescription filled and are taking the
medicine regularly with the results noticed so far of the
elimination of the abrasions on the body, but have not felt
any relief from the sinus affection which has prevailed for
some time.
"We have in mind a further reading to cover this sinus
condition and would like to have your advice if this is in
order or not..."
12/27/29 Letter: "...I am enclosing request for a check
reading, accompanied by check, on the ailment in my head and
throat which is not getting any better. It appears to be of
a sinus nature as I am almost constantly bothered by a clear
mucus discharge through the throat which is aggravated
immediately after eating, which would seem to indicate that
the glands are implicated in this trouble. However, I would
appreciate your assistance in diagnosing this feature of my
trouble..."
