2/19/26 EC's ltr. to Dr. [
5618]:
Dear Dr. [
5618]
I have yours of the 15th, and I'm sure I should beg your
pardon for not having written you in regards the condition
that was preventing any actual thing being done towards the
matter we had under discussion. I was of the opinion,
however, that Mr. [
900], my associate, had written you. In
fact, I think he told me he did, though I know he has been
under such a strain for the last two or three months, he has
hardly known whether he was coming or going. His wife's
mother [
139] came up from New Orleans about the first of
December, arrived in New York sick, was operated on about two
days or three days before Christmas. Seemingly she improved
for a while, then started to going back, and they thought it
was necessary for another operation, but she did not recover
from that. He left last Sunday for New Orleans with the
body. During the time, his wife [
136] has been in the
hospital also, and it was necessary for an operation for her.
They lost their child that would have been born in May or
June. You can imagine what he has been through. Of Course,
I know it's such circumstances as this that has prevented him
from taking any definite stand, or to make any move as to
just how we would go about to handle this proposition, or to
go about to arrange for the manufacture, distribution of same
- but, even did we not start in to establish a factory and a
research department for this preparation, there would be
nothing, as I can see, that would hinder you from using same
at any time or any place that you would see fit to do so, and
I'll be very glad to send you some of it and let you start in
with anything that you have there, and from the reports you
may be able to get from same, would really start the thing to
rolling. So, I am sending you, under separate cover, a
bottle of the preparation. I think the way that this should
be applied (that is, in the office and by the physician), is
with small tweezer and wad of cotton, which I am sure you
understand better than I can explain to you, and with the
added stimulation that you can give with osteopathic
treatments, certainly should make it very effective, and I'm
sure through same you can easily show the necessity of the
investigations of this ind. when we are ready to start the
manufacture and distribution.
Now, I'm in hopes that this suggestion and idea meets with
your approval, and that you will understand from the
conditions that have existed, just why that you haven't heard
before this.
I'm in hopes that you are feeling real well yourself, and
that the rest of the family are well, and that you have
something in view or some decisive move that you want to make
or take. I tell you, I believe that you would have made a
good move to have come to Virginia Beach. I never saw any
place where's there is so much activity going on, and being a
physician and osteopath both, I believe you could have made a
go of things here. There has another young physician though
come in here, so now in all we have three, but I'm sure from
the outlook there'll be room for a whole lot more.
I'm glad to say that we are all fairly well here. I haven't
been feeling very good, but I believe I'm getting over it and
getting in better shape.
Let me hear from you, and I feel sure you will hear, if you
haven't already, from [
900].
With love to all,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
