12/13/27 EC's ltr. to [
4906]:
My dear Mr. [
4906]:-
Yours of the 3rd received while I was away for a few days.
I was certainly glad to hear from you, and to know that
conditions look favorable for you. I certainly realize, by
my experience, how much you have accomplished from what you
say about the interest that is being shown by Mr. Murray and
Mr. Doffenmeyer, McConnell and others. Mr. Henyard I am sure
you will find a wonderful man. But you are going to succeed
- do what everybody has said was impossible to do. I feel
very sure of that.
You know I will be more than glad to get a reading for Mother
Moore. I don't know whether you would want to show her this
one or not, but I believe this would tell her everything that
you suggested that would be asked for a reading for her.
I am awful busy, and am going to be more so, if possible, in
the next couple of months - but don't hesitate to call on me
at any time that you feel I possibly might be of service -
for I certainly want to see you put this over! and if it is
possible in any sense of the word for me to help out, I want
to do it.
We are making some progress toward our work here, but such a
thing as this would, of course, give it a prestige beyond any
question - and would make people able to see it from the many
various sides that such work presents. I believe I am better
prepared to answer many questions that may be presented, for
I have just recently gone through quite a siege with the
medical fraternity, and I have them where they are asking to
be ALLOWED to join me, rather than having to beg them TO join
in. Quite a difference, isn't it? I believe the actual
building will be begun within the next thirty days, and it'll
be within the next sixty or ninety days that you will have
your well there - then, as you say, won't they say something!
You handle it in your own way, just as you see is the right
and proper way, and I am willing to do whatever I may to try
and help - but I do not want to ever be in the way, no matter
what may come up.
I appreciate your letting us hear from you, and will write
you again just as soon as I have an opportunity. I believe -
if it became necessary - I could help you get some money -
but, as you said, many of these might want a great deal more
than you should have to give for the funds necessary to
complete the operations at this stage of the game.
Hoping you will find this interesting, valuable and very much
worth while, and with kindest personal regards from each and
everyone here, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
2/11/28 Mr. [
4906]'s letter: "I am sure anxious for it to
rain, but as yet there is no favorable sign. I had to run my
6 5/8 casing at 1722 on account of hole caving from above. I
am just wondering if I am really through the Ellenberger lime
yet or not. Your last reading said I would encounter another
heavy lime at 1800 and some odd - but if it's any heavier
than that I am in now, it will be something to drill. I have
2250 feet of good 5 3/16 on the rack at the well. You speak
of various formations after 1823 where you said set 6" pipe.
I wish you would take a reading and give me the formations
that I will encounter, and what kind, and how much of each,
and will I get water between 1722 and 2600 feet; if so, how
much and at what depth. Will I have any slate to drill? I
hope so, for this lime is hard, and so slow and expensive.
This well is costing a fortune. I have tried hauling water
in a truck from San Saba, but I cannot any ways near keep
enough to run with. So I will keep on waiting on it to rain.
When will it rain hard enough here to make rocky run, and
fill our hole? Please take a reading on these points for me
and let me hear from real soon. Interest seems to run high
when we are working, but when I have to wait it seems that
everyone gets restless."
