This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office in Pinewood, on Lake Drive, Va. Beach, Va., this 14th day of March, 1932, in accordance with request made by self, Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., by his wife and also [255].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5672]. Now, we find there are disturbing conditions in the physical functioning of the body, and while the body physical may be said to be in the recuperative stage, there are conditions which - as we find - were they changed, would materially aid in faster recuperation and prevent detrimental and weakening conditions existing IN the organs and the general system; were these added to, or changed to these elements as WE would find necessary for the full recuperation, with less and less chance or opportunity for detrimental effects to remain in the system.
2. As we find, these are the conditions: While there are evidences of a great deal of poison being in the system from the after effects of congestion in lung, and in liver, these are - in the manner - the blood attempting to create sufficient of the necessary elements in the plasm of the blood itself to meet these conditions. Hence we find rather a weak, depleted, low circulation with tendencies in the afternoons - or early morning (and these vary somewhat) of a little temperature arising. This not a condition to be alarming; rather a necessary condition, provided there is supplied in the system that which will give the plasm and the whole blood stream that which to build upon, and keeping same balanced sufficiently that there is not a strain or a relying upon one organ or another, or of the system as a whole to supply the necessary elements at the depleting or depletion of some other portion of the system. See? This, then, as we find, leaves the whole of the organism rather in a depleted and rundown condition.
3. There are those contributory causes, as we find, in the condition of the teeth; in the condition of the throat and bronchia, that add TO the poisons that are attempting to be eliminated from the system. Were those teeth removed that show pus in same, and there are some both in the lower and upper portion of the mouth that need not only local attention but to be removed bodily from the system, these poisons may not accumulate there.
4. That in the throat and bronchi are of the strept nature. Hence it is from this that the strain on the kidney is being exercised, see? Now this, as we will find, will need a different character of attention, and the kidneys AND the hepatic circulation would balance themselves more nominally were these used that will act as an antiseptic TO the tissue itself and at the same time adding to the body that which will assist in throwing off and eliminating nominally through all of the ductless glands that work in this direction, as well as of the organs themselves in meeting the emergencies and the conditions as they arise.
5. Then, we would have as this for the body, [5672].
6. First, as SOON as practical, we would have those teeth removed where there are dead nerves or pus formed, with the others treated.
7. We would use a gargle of Atomidine for the throat and for the ROOF of mouth and bronchi. To half a glass of water put thirty to forty drops of Atomidine, see? use as a gargle at least twice each day.
8. Take the Atomidine internally; five to eight drops in half a glass of water twice each day. This may be taken at the time the gargle is made, or at opposite periods. They would preferably be made just before retiring and when making the toilet, or the bath of mornings, before FOOD is taken into the system.
9. We would also take at least two tablets of White's Cod Liver Compound, or extracts, after each meal. These will carry more of the vitamins necessary to supply the blood, that as will make for oxygen in the system; also will clarify the tissue that is sore through the lungs, and working well with the digestive system. The Atomidine also will work well with the glands of the throat, the glands of the pancreas; also of the lacteals and of the endrenal, clarifying the kidneys.
10. As for the eliminations, these we would keep rather ABOVE the normal. We will find that those compounds, when it is necessary to take any, will carry Senna - rather than of the coal tar preparation, will work better with this system; or, as we find, one of the best would be Castoria, taken in very small doses - half a teaspoonful every thirty minutes, or better STILL ten drops every fifteen minutes until there is a full reaction from the alimentary canal, no matter if it requires two bottles of same - or eighteen hundred drops. These are those properties that make for a whole coordination of the DIGESTIVE system, see?
11. In the matter of the diet, we would have rather as this - while these conform to some of those being taken - these may be altered occasionally:
12. Mornings - coddled egg and toast; dry toast or milk toast; or cereals - cooked cereals, preferably of Wheatena or rolled oats, but the oats should be the steel cut oats rather than those already heated, for they lose some of the necessary vitamins in such. Those that are cooked for a long period of time. There may be taken fresh fruits with the toast, or orange, grapefruit or lemon - see? They would be better taken as the juice than with the pulp of the fruit itself. DO NOT mix cereals and fruit juices, though cereals with fresh fruits may be taken - as sliced peaches, pears, or the like. Those that are canned may be taken, provided they are not canned - or preserved - with Benzoate of Soda. Those of the standard brands, or the Libby, or the LaMonte brands, we find are the more perfect; though those of the Libby are more perfect than the others.
13. Noon - broths of fresh meats, as of lamb, or preferably of wild game - of the hare, or of the squirrel, or the partridge, or the grouse, or the like - these would be well for the body; but little of the meats would we take - but thick broths. Milk may be taken at this same period. Much better that the milk is heated, but not boiled - or better still with the animal heat in same when taken. Bad time to milk a cow, but be very well to give it at that period!
14. Evenings - particularly blood building foods, as of liver or tripe, or of pig knuckle, or of blood pudding. This may be taken with some cereal drink, or coffee - but not coffee with milk in it.
15. This, as we find, would be the nominal way for the better developing of the necessary elements. These added with the properties taken.
16. In taking the White's Cod Liver Oil, take these two after each meal - see? and don't forget to eat the meals!
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) What can be done to improve the eyes?
    (A) Let's get the general system better. This is rather of a specific nature. We will find that with the general removing of these pressures, and if some manipulations are given, we may aid the eyes considerably. Protect them during the period when these treatments are given. Then later we may add those specific conditions. For the beginning of same, we would give that the body take the head and neck exercise - himself - of the specific nature, which will aid the eyes. That is, begin with the forward movement of the head, slowly, but at least ten times - just as low as the head may be bowed on the chest, see? Then back ten times, slow - but just as far back as the head may go. Then to the side, first to one side then to the other - ten times. Then the rotary motion. Best to begin with the forward motion and follow through these, for the specific CENTERS that are involved in the stretching of the muscular forces through the neck lend themselves to this MANNER of activity. In rotating, rotate first one way then the other; that is, not alternately, but rotate to the right, then rotate to the left - ten times. This done once or twice a day will MATERIALLY strengthen, and it would also aid that condition in the throat, in the nasal, in the roof - or in the adenoid region of the system, clarifying the throat also; for with the mucus membranes clarified there will be a new flow of blood. With the motion of the head these will strengthen all those muscles that have made for the tendency of the twitching, or the cross condition in the eye.
19. (Q) What is the condition of kidneys?
    (A) As indicated. They are over strained from throat and bronchi trouble. Poisons in system. The use of the properties as outlined will clarify these conditions.
20. (Q) Are lungs healing properly?
    (A) Do as we have given, and they will heal better!
