For the asthmatic condition, have those properties made into
an inhalant, as this:
To 4 ounces of pure GRAIN alcohol (not 85%, but pure grain
alcohol - that's a 190%, or 190 proof), add:
Eucalyptol, or Oil of same...............20 minims,
Benzosol.................................10 minims,
Oil of Turp, or Rectified Oil of Turp.....5 minims,
Tolu in solution.........................40 minims,
Benzoin, Tincture of......................5 minims.
Keep in a container at least twice the size, or an 8 ounce
bottle with a glass cork. Shake solution together and inhale
deep into the lungs and bronchi two or three times each day.
In the diet, keep that that is body-building, blood-building,
and keep WELL balanced as to an alkalin and and an acid diet.
Keep the eliminations normal. Do not allow congestions from
the inactive forces of the body.
Well to keep the braces, but do not have same so that
they produce irritation in any manner. These should be
re-adjusted for the time being, but gradually we will find we
will be able to be rid of these, little by little, as stamen,
strength, and the flow of blood is brought about in the body.
Ready for questions.
(Q) Would you advise new braces being obtained?
(A) This has just been given. These may be changed to
meet the needs at the present, see? We wouldn't change
the surroundings, but we would be very persistent, very
consistent for the first six months. Once each month take
the body to an osteopath for a GENERAL treatment. Once each
week give the mullein stupes; that is, the green mullein -
or gathered at the present - this put in a pan and scalding
water poured over same, allowed to stand until cool enough to
put hands in, then the leaves themselves are pressed and lain
over the lumbar and sacral, with a towel over same to keep
the heat for twenty to thirty minutes.
(Q) In massaging the body from the toes upward, should the
limbs be massaged on the backs or all around?
(A) Circular, as was given - this means all the way round.
CIRCULAR motion, from the toes TOWARDS the body. Circular
motion!
(Q) Would you suggest what osteopath to take the body to for
the general treatment?
(A) Anyone that's a good osteopath! We only give them once
a month - anyone ought to do that very good, that knows his
business at all!
We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND
5/19/31 Questions submitted by Mrs. [
959]: "If treatments
are to be given, where - lowest cost? Cause & remedy for
asthma? If osteopathy is advised should we put her under
Dr. Elisha T. Kirk's care? Should braces be continued? Or
should she be developed by exercise? Should new braces be
obtained?"
5/22/31 Mother's letter: "I assume that the reading will
deal first with infantile paralysis, [
5682] suffered six
and a half years ago, rendering her legs almost entirely
powerless to move. The asthma has bothered only two and
a half years. In either disease if treatment or medicine
is recommended I take it that you will ask for explicit
directions as to where either may be secured and how it
should be administered. If in the course of the reading
anything should call for a question I am trusting you to
ask it."
REPORTS
6/09/31 Mrs. [
959]'s letter: "...Mrs. [...] [[
5682]'s mother]
is delighted with the reading and is beginning at once..."
7/06/31 Mrs. [
959]'s letter: "...The little [
5682] girl is
improving. She went upstairs by herself recently, which she
has never done before. The parents are very happy..."
10/18/31 Mrs. [
959]'s letter: "...The little girl [
5682]
is improving rapidly. She has thrown away crutches and her
legs are developing and her father told me last week is the
happiest soul you ever saw and has all the faith in you and
your work and he wished me to write to you how very much they
appreciated what you have done. This is quite a joy to me,
they are following every letter of your advice..."
3/16/32 Mrs. [
959]'s letter: "...The little [
5682] girl is
anxious to have another reading soon..."
3/21/32 Mother's letter: "...I have been wanting another
reading for three or four months but did not have the money.
I am now enclosing a check for $10 and shall wait the time
you assign for her reading. She goes to school so will be at
home on Saturdays and Sundays also evenings. Following your
instructions, [
5682] has certainly improved. She is not free
of asthma but is better I am sure. She also walks better,
at least with more confidence. We found a delightful lady
osteopath (Dr. Sarah Ure) in Charleston. Whether these few
treatments have been of benefit I cannot say. Please tell me
whether the treatments have been given correctly and if they
should be continued or if it would be advisable to have two
treatments on consecutive days. When we go to Charleston we
can usually go one day and back the next, so could get one
treatment in the morning another afternoon of next day.
Please say how we are progressing and how we shall proceed
now if any changes in treatments are to be made..."
3/28/32 Mother's letter: "...Shall she continue to inhale
the medicine you recommended for asthma? What articles of
food shall she avoid? Shall we resume use of Mulleins soon
as it comes up? I dried some for winter use but haven't used
it. Please give definite schedule for us to work by..."
4/02/32 EC gave her second reading,
5682-2, giving further
suggestions especially as to diet.
10/07/74 She requested copies of her readings, which were sent
with the request for a report.
11/01/74 She wrote: "I'm very sorry to report that we did not
follow through on Mr. Cayce's prescriptions. I believe if
we had had his help when I first had polio that I would be
walking normally today. As it is, I still use braces and
crutches. I do not have asthma but
2-3 times a year but
would like to have his formula for the inhalant made up.
My druggist has not been able to locate 'tolu in solution'.
Can you tell me where we might be able to get it?" [She
expressed intention of becoming A.R.E. member and visiting
the library.]
11/04/74 GD wrote that Ingram's Pharmacy, Va. Beach, secures
Tolu in Solution from Sherwood Laboratories, 1601 E. 361st
St., Willoughby, Ohio 44094.
