11/30/32 Mr. David E. Kahn's letter to EC:
Mr. [
5685] came in to see me today and stated that everything
that he had heard in the reading were things he had discussed
with you and that he at the present time was rather negative
as to joining the organization, or becoming an active member.
I had my usual discussion with him and he admitted that it
would be very unusual had he gotten all of this information
without having told you very much about himself.
I did not think he came just for the purpose of telling me
that, but while here, he said that he would like very much to
have a reading on his brother's wife, so I immediately cut
him off from discussing her condition and also informed him
that it would be better to take it up with you direct and
send in his application for membership; otherwise the reading
could not be given.
We had a very cordial visit but I have learned from friends
of his that he likes to get as much for nothing as he
possibly can get. He likes to visit and see psychic
phenomena but he takes his time about standing part of the
expenses so we will follow the advice of the reading and
wait, as far as he is concerned.
There is no question he is deeply interested so I would
suggest that if he writes for a reading and does not attach
everything that belongs to the application, in this one
instance, I would recommend that you return it to him and
tell him that you are operating under laws of Virginia, Inc.
