2/07/23 Mrs. [
5694]'s letter to EC:
..., Ala.
Dr. Edgar Cayce,
Selma, Ala.
Dear Dr. Cayce:-
After writing to you yesterday (about three o'clock) I was
sitting here writing another letter and I SNEEZED and it
seemed to me that I wrenched, or twisted, or loosened or
tore everything inside of me! I could scarcely stand up. I
have not hurt so badly as that in a long, long time.
I waited for ever so long and as I did not feel any better,
but rather felt worse, I went down to the osteopath to get
him to manipulate the muscles back into place. He said that
I did not really displace anything inside of me - the trouble
was muscular. His treatment helped me but as I still feel
mighty bad this morning I thought I would mention this
occurrence to you, and how I am feeling, so that you can give
me any advice that may be helpful to me in your reading on
Friday noon.
My troubles all come from the following causes: a baby born
eight years ago was a "high forceps" baby and eight stitches
up and down the vagina: premature twin babies six years ago,
and a right bad time: a miscarriage four years ago, and a
curettement following that: as I continued to feel ill all
the time I had an operation through the vagina (not
abdominal) in 1918 with hardly any good results, and again
in 1921 I had a similar operation - that time I did feel
better way up inside but was not entirely relieved of a
feeling of heaviness up and down the vagina, and soreness
and irritation at the opening. And at times I have much
sensation of twitching in the vagina. That may be from the
old stitches.
All this may or may not help you in my case. I hope I am
done with surgeons for the rest of my life. But surely I can
be well again instead of feeling miserable half the time. I
have no endurance, I tire over nothing, I can't lift anything
scarcely, I can't walk any distance without giving out, and
the least excitement or worry makes me nervous.
Yours very truly, Mrs. [
