12/10/26 Mother's letter: "Your rdg. rec'd and I think it
fits her condition fairly well, and I expect to carry out
the suggestions. I don't understand these uremic and
neurasthenic conditions you speak of, would like for you to
explain this clearer.
"I will try and explain what I believe about [
5724]'s
condition. It is sort of a spastic paralysis, caused during
birth, by too hard a pressure on the head. She is now 4 yrs.
old and cannot talk, walk or sit alone. To look at her you
would think she was a normal child. She eats hearty, sleeps
well, understands everything that is said to her and seems
very smart mentally. Her bowels have never acted alone for
any length of time. I have given her an enema daily for 3
yrs. but now I am going to try the remedy you gave. I have
never given her any other foods, only those you prescribed.
So far as we can tell she never has any pain or has never had
a sick day. She wants to play and tries to talk. She can
say Mama, but does not talk as she should at her age. I have
a walker for her, that she gets anywhere in, but otherwise
she can't walk. Her greatest trouble seems to be lack of
balance or control of the nerves and muscles. If she sees an
object she would like to play with, she can't reach her hand
out and pick it up right now, it takes her sometimes
15-20
minutes to do so. We massage her back daily and do anything
we think might help.
"We will try your remedies for 28 days and will let you
know the results. My opinion is that your rdg. fits this
condition fairly well and we will see that you are rewarded
in the near future, and if you can get anything more helpful
by knowing more about this case we will appreciate your
kindness very much. If you wish to know any more about this
I will gladly inform you. Please let me know more about
those conditions or what they pertain to. Very sincerely,"
12/14/26 EC's letter: "Thanks for your report, and I am
sure you are going to find results by carrying out the
suggestions as were made for the improvement of your little
girl. The anemic [uremic?] and neurasthenic condition as
referred to, as I understand, is the condition preceding the
birth of the child. Hence the necessity of the changes that
will possibly be necessary after the first 28 days of
following the treatment recommended. So we will want to make
this as soon as possible, so we are making an appointment for
the afternoon of Jan. 21st. If this is satisfactory, let us
know. At that time I believe it will be well for you to make
a list of questions regarding the condition and treatment,
and I am sure it will clarify things for you."
GD's note: We did not hear from her again.
